(KGTV) – The Legoland Hotel in Carlsbad is set to reopen before the theme park.Legoland California officials said the hotel, located on the same grounds as the Legoland theme park, will reopen to the public on Friday, July 17.With the reopening of the hotel, officials confirmed there will be numerous health and safety modifications in place such as social distancing practices and enhanced cleaning regimes.Legoland Hotel will operate in a reduced capacity, take cashless payments, and have a face coverings requirement for all guests three years of age and over. Hotel staff will also be required to don face coverings.Officials said those interested in staying at the hotel should book reservations online.The announcement of the hotel's reopening comes a week after officials said the Legoland theme park, which was shut down in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, would not reopen prior to Aug. 1.A reopening date for the theme park has not yet been determined. 992
CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago's Second City comedy theater is up for sale. The sale, announced Tuesday, is the second in the company's 60-year history. In a statement released by investment banker Houlihan Lokey, co-owner Andrew Alexander said a sale presents the opportunity for Second City to continue to succeed well into the future. Second City suspended all its shows and classes in early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic until further notice. Second City faced controversy in June when Alexander stepped down from the training and performance troupe due to allegations of racism within the company. (KGTV) — A German father and son had the summer vacation of a lifetime spanning seven countries, eight cities, and eight theme parks.Better yet, they pulled off the feat in a mere 13 days.Dieter Deussen and his five-year-old son, Julian, finished the last leg of their journey to visit all Legoland theme parks in the world Tuesday. (KGTV) - A former DACA recipient was arrested Monday on his second attempt to re-enter the U.S. from Mexico.El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents received information from Remote Video Surveillance Systems operators that a man had crossed the border fence approximately 3 miles east of Calexico.RVSS monitors showed the man running away from agents as they tried to arrest him, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.After a brief chase, agents caught 23-year-old Mexican citizen Juan Manual Montes-Bojorquez.CBP said Montes had previously been deported in February.“Our agents witnessed and arrested Mr. Bojorquez making an illegal entry into the United States for the second time this year,” said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. Kim. “Border Patrol Agents will always stop, detain, and arrest anyone making an illegal entry into the country irrespective of their immigration or citizenship status.” Montes was booked into the Imperial County Jail on pending charges of re-entry after removal. 1047
