SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Country music lovers in Mission Valley are fighting to keep InCahoots from closing at the end of the year. One woman started a petition on change.org in hopes of saving the beloved bar. Former congressional candidate Morgan Murtaugh started the petition on Sunday. She said she has been going to InCahoots for years and was devastated to find out the bar was sold. The owner tells 10News the land was sold and their lease was not extended. If not, she says she plans on fighting any future plans for the use of the building or the land.InCahoots has been in Mission Valley for 26 years. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — As six candidates took the stage Friday, the eyes on who would be the one to replace former Congressman Duncan Hunter focused mainly on three.Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar and Republicans Carl DeMaio and Darrell Issa. The three are polling among the top for two spots up for grabs in the March primary. Campa-Najjar is making another run for the seat after he narrowly lost in 2018 to Hunter, who was then under indictment. He opened the debate Friday. San Diego (KGTV) -- County leaders are taking steps to provide more access to coronavirus testing to some of the local communities hit hardest by the pandemic.The new outreach program will begin with a free new testing site at the Mexican Consulate at 1549 India St. starting at 8 a.m. Monday and will run until 3:30 p.m.No appointments are needed.The County of San Diego has been trying to expand testing and outreach in the Latino community, which has been the hardest hit by the coronavirus.Of the more than 42,000 confirmed cases in the county, Latinos account for 63% of that total.County and community leaders say the Consulate’s opening as a testing location will provide an accessible, safe way for San Diego’s Mexican and Latino communities to receive COVID-19 testing.The additional testing locations coming online in the coming weeks will function on a 14-day rotation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - As we continue to work through the pandemic, a couple of Carmel Valley kids are working to spread “some good news” for San Diegans. Brothers Zach and Asher Swazey are putting together their own newscasts.Its called “SGN San Diego.” The newscast is filled with good news.“You want to have something that will affect people in a positive way,” says 13-year-old Zach.The brothers are now working on episode two. They say it was a lot of work putting everything together.“It took us 2-3 weeks,” says ten-year-old Asher. “We went through multiple stages of editing. It took a little of time to make the script and film.”The boys say they were inspired to start SGN San Diego after watching actor and filmmaker John Krasinski on Youtube.The boys say their video is getting more views, but their headline is to make people feel good.“When you’re making a YouTube channel, it’s not about how many likes you get or how many subscribers, it’s how it affects people.”The brothers say their parents are also a big help.
