Hundreds gathered at a house party in Howell Township on Sunday, less than a week after New Jersey tightened indoor gathering restrictions because of an increase in the rate of coronavirus transmission.Local police asked for help from Wall, Brick, Jackson, Freehold, Monmouth, and Ocean County Sheriffs and State Police because of the large number of people at the party. There were about 300 people at the party."Most of the attendees are compliant," police said. "Others are hesitant and are directing their anger towards the host who charged admission."Police arrested the host."At one point, we probably had about 500 people here," said Howell Police Sgt. Christian Antunez. "When we got here there were party buses dropping people off."Police said there was admission to get in — for women and for men."Some paid up to 0 for a cabana rental," said Antunez.A flier advertising the pool party on Wilson Drive lists prices and a DJ."I was in disbelief," said Pam Borges, who struggled to get into her own neighborhood when police blocked off all the streets. "My neighbors were talking about them urinating on their cars."It took police two hours to break it up.On Monday, Gov. Phil Murphy attributed many coronavirus cases in the state to parties."We believe that some of this increase is attributable to the number of indoor house parties we’ve been seeing across the state. IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) -- The city of Imperial Beach voted to create a committee to take a look at their contract with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the department’s use of force policies. During a city council meeting Wednesday night, the council also passed a Black Lives Matter proclamation.The committee will be tasked with looking to see if there are any necessary changes that should or could potentially be made when it comes to spending, looking at the possibility of redirecting funds to other community services. The council agreed that this committee should also make sure the sheriff’s department can still ensure public safety.The vote also came with the condition that the city will hire a consultant to advise them and help with the review.The council agreed to come back with their findings and any recommended changes in 90 days. 877

If you live with someone who has opposing views about the COVID-19 pandemic, it can make living situations awkward.Hunter Stanfield is an assistant professor of family science at Lipscomb University. When approaching someone about their views on COVID-19, and their habits, he said it’s best to remain calm and open-minded.“It is throwing everyone for a loop,” Stanfield said, “So instead of saying that you’re really getting worked up about this, that’s probably not the best initial approach. It may be ‘I can see that this is really upsetting to you, can you tell me a little bit more about that?'”He said trying to understand, before attempting to be understood, is a good starting place. “Am I willing to consider their perspective, or am I in this to prove them wrong? Which in the end gets us nowhere in all of this, so I think those basic things are really important and critical.”If you know why someone’s habits are a certain way, it’s possible to compromise.“I know some people say compromise is a dirty word, in this case, I think compromise really gets at the fact that I’m wanting to meet someone or be a part of someone’s life the best I can," Stanfield said.If the social awkwardness persists, a ton of people is going to therapy to sort it out right now.“I sometimes equate therapy to taking your car in to get an oil change. In a blog post on Thursday, Twitter says it has suspended more than 1.2 million accounts for promoting terrorism-related content between August 2015 and December 2017.The announcement came as part of the company's 12th biannual Twitter Transparency Report.The company also reported that more that 274,000 of those accounts were suspended in the last reporting period from July 2017 and December 2017, and nearly three quarters of those accounts were suspended before even sending a tweet.Terror groups like ISIS have been known to be active on Twitter, and use the social networking site as a recruiting tool to attract new members.Despite Twitter's report, the company continues ot face criticism on how it handles issues relating to harassment and hate speech.
