INTERACTIVE MAP: See where the Hill Fire is burning in Ventura County(KGTV) — Fire crews battled back flames from the Hill Fire burning near Thousand Oaks overnight Friday. The blaze has burned more than 4,500 acres and contained to 70 percent as of Sunday morning. On Friday, crews had estimated the fire to have burned about 6,100 acres. While low humidity and high winds have made fighting the nearby Woolsey Fire difficult, crews Friday encountered minimal active fire activity with the Hill Fire, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. At least one firefighter has been injured fighting the fire, and several hundred structures have been threatened. Surprisingly, no structures have reportedly been destroyed. The fire is burning in a south-southwest direction, VCFD said. About 800 personnel have been assigned to the Hill Fire. 883

It doesn’t take much to upend many Americans’ finances. A car that won’t start, a furnace that dies or a trip to the hospital can leave households struggling to make ends meet.According to the Federal Reserve, 44% of U.S. adults say they would have trouble coming up with 0 to cover an unexpected expense. Even families who have more in the bank can flounder. Surveys by The Pew Charitable Trusts found that 51% of families with at least ,000 in savings reported trouble paying the bills after a financial shock.Yet it is hardly a shock if an appliance wears out or a car breaks down. It’s time to rethink what we mean by unexpected expenses. Some bills may be unpredictable in their amount or their timing, but they’re still inevitable. In other words: If you have a car, or a home, or a body, sooner or later it’s going to cost you.A better approach, especially for households currently living paycheck to paycheck, is to save for the most likely costs and have some kind of Plan B to handle the truly unexpected. Here’s how that might work with three of the most common unexpected expenses Pew found: 1119

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis woman was moved to tears after seeing random strangers' response when a man using a wheelchair was flung after hitting a pothole. Carissa Brammer was driving on 86th Street Wednesday morning when she stopped at a stoplight.A man crossing the walk in his motorized wheelchair hit a "damn pothole," as she called it, and went flying forward. He was lying flat on his back in the middle of the intersection when people came running to help. "The first guy out was a suit and tie guy in his Lexus," she wrote. "Then an Asian man in his Lexus. Then a furniture delivery man. Then a couple black men. It was beautiful. The guys just kept coming."The stop light went through several rotations, but nobody moved or honked until the man was safely on the other side. Check out Brammer's full post below: 853
