Unable to take care of the puppies himself, the seller reportedly said that he would offer a puppy at a steeply discounted rate but the Mark family would have to pay for shipping, which would be around 0.The seller could not be reached for comment and his online advertisement has been taken down.Angela says she was directed to use a Montana-based company, American Delivery Service. The company's fairly official-looking website says the company, "[aims] to provide pet owners with unique advanced solutions needed to fly with your pets." The website does not list an address and calls to the listed phone number were not answered.Additionally, there does not appear to be an official filing for American Deliver Service through the Montana Secretary of State's Office.In the contracts, messages and invoices from alleged representatives of American Delivery Service, there were numerous grammatical and spelling errors, as well as no official letterhead.In hindsight, Brady Mark said there were several red flags."We've been getting the runaround back and forth from the shipping company. Who's legitimate and who's not? We don't know yet," Mark said. "[Alleged company representatives] said, 'hey we need more money for this this and this.' We still have no dog and we're about 00 deep right now, probably even more than that."Mark said the alleged company went as far as to provide short videos and other media showing dogs in shipping containers, apparently suggesting the Mark's new puppy was in transit. There was also a shipment tracking number provided on the invoices. However, at every turn, there were demands for hundreds of dollars in order to pay for things like vaccines and special dog carriers.Angela Mark said an alleged company representative said the dog was waiting at a local airport and would be released to the family upon final payment. However, Brady Mark said he called the airport and an airport representative told him there weren't any animals in holding.Brady Mark said he and his wife have both come to the belief that their money may never be coming back."We borrowed money off of our daughter," Brady Mark said. "[Angela's] mom stepped in to try to help us out. We didn't just screw ourselves. We screwed other people in the process. It's going to screw us at the end of the month when bills start coming due. We might be short on rent. It's not their problem, it's ours. Still, if it can help somebody else to avoid what we just went through, so be it. DENVER, Colorado — Cloud seeding can provide between 5% and 15% more snow to help ski areas, farmers and watersheds in the state, supporters say. "These observations show us that cloud seeding does work," said University of Colorado researcher Katja Friedrich, who has studied cloud seeding inside and outside of a laboratory. She worked with scientists who flew planes near moisture-rich clouds and injected them with silver iodide, a substance that causes moisture to become heavy and fall to the ground as snow. On a radar image, she pointed outlines of snow that later formed. The visible lines matched the pattern the cloud seeding plane had flown in the sky. Cloud seeding in Colorado aims to produce more snow, not rain. Friedrich said it's difficult to quantify how much additional snow is created. Cloud seeding doesn't make more clouds, but supporters believe it gets more snow out of an approaching storm. Planes can be used to seed approaching storm clouds. Ground seeders use propane to heat the air and also used in the mountains and Western Slope. Silver iodide is then added to the warmed air as it rises. The moisture, already in the clouds, bonds to the silver iodide. When it becomes heavy, it falls to the ground as snow. Cloud seeding has been happening for about 70 years in Colorado but is slowed in years when there is heavy snowfall. Cloud seeders operated during the 2018-2019 winter but slowed in places where significant snowpack accumulated. PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Around the world there are more than 100 safe injection sites, in countries like Canada, Australia and Spain. However, in the U.S. there are none. “In 2017, 1,217 Philadelphians died of overdoses. Last year about 1,150,” said Philadelphia’s former mayor, and the state’s former governor, Ed Rendell. Rendell has been leading a fighting for Philadelphia to open the first safe injection site in the country. He joined the organization Safehouse in this effort shortly after his best friend’s son overdosed on heroin. “When John Decker died, it became personal,” added Rendell. “Decker wasn’t my son, but I knew him since he was a 2-year-old boy.”Safe injection sites provide a place for users to inject drugs under medical supervision. The proposal has landed Rendell and supporters of the plan against the federal government. The Department of Justice sued Safehouse last year to block the site but then earlier this month this call happened. “It’s kind of a nuance. He just said it’s not unlawful activity,” said a board member of Safehouse who was on speaker phone in Rendell’s office. The call described a judge’s decision minutes earlier. The federal judge denied the Trump administration’s motion to block Safehouse from opening a safe injection site under the federal Crack House Statue. “It is clearly a victory,” said Rendell during the call.
