A man shot by a Cuyahoga County, Ohio Sheriff's deputy near Cleveland on I-90 on Thursday has died.The medical examiner identified the man as Brett Luengo, 33, of Westlake, Ohio. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated, expired and pronounced dead last night. Luengo was a prominent businessman who was the CEO and Vice President of ConstructAbility Inc., a construction services firm in Westlake.The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce awarded ConstructAbility with an award in 2017.The shooting took place along Interstate 90 near West Boulevard Thursday evening.The scene led to a major police presence and traffic back-up in the eastbound lanes between West 44th Street and West Boulevard.The deputy involved was not injured.Witnesses say the incident started after a single-vehicle crash. The driver then got out of the SUV and was acting both erratically and violently to those trying to help him. Authorities say he was involved in an altercation when the deputy exited his own vehicle. When the deputy approached, the sheriff said Luengo "charged (the deputy) in an aggressive manner.""He kept screaming to shoot him. The cop kept asking him to roll over, put your hands behind your back. The man was not cooperating. He kept trying to get up and attack the police officer, he kept lunging at him," witness Jason Geiger said. "I think what happened at that point he ran out of taser cartridges because at that point he shot the guy."Authorities say the deputy fired one shot. A judge has decided a university was justified in moving an event by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro to a smaller venue for safety concerns, according to reports.Shapiro, a lawyer, former Breitbart editor and author of several books, was scheduled to speak at the University of Minnesota in February 2018.The group that requested Shapiro’s appearance, Students for a Conversative Voice, requested the use of a large, 1,000+ seat venue on the Minneapolis campus. However, University officials at the time decided the event needed to be held at a venue on the St. Paul campus that seats less than 500 people because of security concerns.The student group claimed in their lawsuit against the university the venue change resulted in limiting the number of people who could attend and denying them the ability to participate in the event.A judge on Friday threw out the lawsuit, according to the Pioneer Press, saying the university had legitimate safety concerns because of other incidents after Shapiro events on other campuses.Large crowds of protesters have appeared at Shapiro events, some resulting in arrests. A group of patients with a rare type of eye cancer called ocular melanoma has researchers and epidemiologists stumped.The cancer, which normally occurs in about six in every 1 million individuals, has been identified in more than 50 individuals around two locations: Huntersville, North Carolina, and Auburn, Alabama. At least 38 of these individuals attended Auburn University between 1983 and 2001, according to a Facebook page for the group of patients.At least four have died of the disease.Juleigh Green was the first person from the Auburn group to be diagnosed with the condition, in 1999. A drug used to euthanize animals has been found in canned dog food, prompting a recall.Low levels of the drug pentobarbital were detected in cans of Gravy Train dog food produced by the J.M. Smucker Company, the FDA said in a statement Friday. Pentobarbital is most commonly used as a sedative, anesthetic or to euthanize animals, it said."Pets that eat pet food containing pentobarbital can experience drowsiness, dizziness, excitement, loss of balance, nausea, nystagmus (eyes moving back and forth in a jerky manner) and inability to stand.
