A day after Republicans attempted to portray the Democratic Party's platform as "far-left socialism," the Trump campaign will attempt to continue that messaging during the second night of speeches at the Republican National Convention. On Monday, speakers attempted to paint Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as part of the party's left-wing, despite his moderate record. Speakers warned of progressive Democrats' calls to defund police departments and institute gun control measures.Tuesday's program will attempt to further those talking points. According to the Trump Campaign website, the second day of the RNC will focus on "how Democrats' radical left agenda will deny Americans the opportunity to achieve their full potential."The theme of Tuesday's program is "Land of Opportunity," which includes a focus on the Trump policies that Republicans say "empower" all Americans.Tuesday's slate of speakers is highlighted by Sec. of State Mike Pompeo, one of Trump's fiercest allies. Pompeo's speech will likely focus on Trump's defeat of the Islamic State group, his attempts to normalize relations with North Korea and his attempts to push back against national security threats from China.Pompeo drew criticisms last week for tweeting a Simpsons GIF to mock House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Also expected to speak is Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron — the man currently in charge of investigating the death of Breonna Taylor a the hands of police in March. Two of Trump's children are also slated to deliver addresses — Eric, his second-oldest son, and Tiffany, his youngest daughter.Below is Tuesday's list of speakers in the order in which they are expected to appear.Pastor Norma Urrabazo, International Church of Las VegasMyron Lizer, Vice President of the Navajo NationRichard Beasley, former FBI special agent an President of Global Intelligence NetworkJon Ponder, founder and CEO of HOPE for Prisoners, Inc.Sen. A Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Sheriff's Department employee was on the job when he overdosed in the parking lot of a Brooklyn IHOP in March.Paul Grivas has a badge with the sheriff's department where he works as a process server — someone who serves warrants and subpoenas. He was in his marked sheriff's department vehicle when someone noticed him slumped over at the wheel and dialed 911."It was definitely a different situation dealing with somebody that's in the same line of work we are," Officer Joe Bugaj with the Brooklyn Police Department said.Police officers found several subpoenas he was in the process of serving in the back seat. They also found the badge he was carrying. When Brooklyn first responders arrived at the scene, they immediately recognized he was overdosing and unresponsive.Grivas was given several doses of Naloxone, the antidote for heroin. Police say when he woke up he was extremely combative. "He was flailing his arms, kicking his legs, and one of the medics ended up getting kicked in the head," Bugaj said.He kneed a fireman so hard, the fireman suffered a mild concussion. Officials say he is doing okay.Bugaj said it's not uncommon for people to wake up from an overdose and be aggravated. He said it's something first responders have to keep in mind. "You never know what could happen, whether or not they're going to be upset, because we are basically taking that high away from them," Bugaj said. When asked if there is anything first responders can do to protect themselves, Bugaj said it's just part of the job."It's our job. It's what we signed up to do. We are here to preserve life," Bugaj said.Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland requested more information on Grivas' status with the sheriff's department, but did not hear back Wednesday. Grivas has been charged with felonious assault and obstructing official business.  1998

A golfer in Colorado is recovering after being gored by an elk over the weekend, splitting one of his kidneys.Zak Bornhoft was at Evergreen Golf Course about an hour west of Denver on Saturday evening. He and his friends saw dozens of elk near the course and thought they would be safe if they kept their distance, according to reports. He tells local media the large elk charged at him while he sat in a golf cart near the 17th hole. The person driving the cart brought him to the clubhouse to get help. The Elk’s antler sliced his left kidney in two. Bornhoft was rushed to the hospital, and treated in the ICU. He is reportedly making a good recovery.Elk are allowed to roam freely in the area of the course, and wildlife officials say attacks on golfers are rare. 773

A Delavan, Wisconsin woman thought she was gaining weight, but it turned out to be something much more serious. Tina Ferguson had 30 pounds of tumors in her stomach from a rare type of cancer.“I just thought it was middle age and weight gain," said Ferguson. "You have no idea you have something inside you that is killing you."A trip to the doctor gave her a diagnosis of ovarian cancer that was possibly benign. But when the doctor's opened her up to remove it they found something unexpected."I will never forget them coming in the room and saying, 'This is stage 4. You have appendix cancer,'" Ferguson said.On top that, it had ruptured attaching tumors to other organs and leaving a jelly-like substance called mucin in the lining of her abdomen. There was 30 pounds of it inside of Ferguson pushing on her organs."This is the mucin and tumor that's present inside of the abdomen before Tina had her operation," said Dr. Harvershp Mogal, a cancer surgeon at the Medical College of Wisconsin. It took doctors 12 hours to remove all the tumors and mucin. The rare cancer used to come with a very low survival rate. Ferguson was first told she only had months to live. However, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin used a new kind of chemotherapy called Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to wash the tumors out."I basically give the patient a heated chemotherapy wash for about 90 minutes. The chemotherapy is heated to 108 Fahrenheit and what the chemotherapy does it takes care of any minute cancer cells that we can't see," said Mogal.Mogal said Ferguson is now cancer-free, just six months later."It's changed my entire outlook on life. You know almost dying, you can't take anything for granted. Every day is a gift," said Ferguson. 1798
