LAS VEGAS — Erin is a hairdresser based out of Henderson, Nevada. She exercises and eats well, but couldn’t figure out why she felt so fatigued.“I started becoming really fatigued and sleeping longer and then it switched and I started having sleepless nights. (KGTV) - One of the witnesses to Sunday's fatal drive-by shooting in La Jolla happened to be a trauma expert."I did see people at that point running all over the place," neighbor Michelle Carcel said. Steps from the crime scene, Carcel recounted what she saw hours prior. One woman was killed, and three men were shot on a sleepy street in La Jolla. San Diego Police said all victims were outside a house party on Draper Avenue when the shooting happened. RELATED: 1 dead in shooting at party in La Jolla"By 9 o'clock everything is shut down, so when we hear kids having a party and stuff, we often say it is a very nice thing. It is a quiet calm thing. So to have this occur is completely out of the ordinary," Carcel said. The scene was so foreign to neighbors in this area but all too familiar for Carcel. As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Carcel often deals with and speaks about gun violence and trauma. "I've talked about Parkland shooting. I've talked about the Orlando shooting. And to have it happen here, to have it happen here so close to home, is still so jarring and so rattling and really brings the message that it can happen anywhere," Dr. Carcel said. Carcel now wears both the witness hat and the clinical psychologist hat. She is giving advice to everyone involved. "This is going to have acute side effects," Dr. Carcel said. "You're going to have post-traumatic stress that could occur within a period of time. Just monitoring and making sure that they are getting the counseling and support that they need."She hopes for the end of senseless shootings, even if it means she may be out of a job. "Our children are dying," Dr. Carcel said. "Innocent people are dying, I don't know what the solution is, but I hope we come together as a community to figure it out."Dr. Carcel said she will conduct a trauma healing circle for her neighbors at a later time. 1900

Life coach Tony Robbins apologized Sunday for his comments about the #MeToo movement after suggesting during a March event that some women use it to gain significance by playing the victim.Robbins argued with a woman name Nanine McCool during a March 15 Unleash the Power Within event about how the #MeToo movement is being used. McCool posted the exchange on her personal YouTube account on March 25. Robbins immediately faced backlash for what he said."My comments failed to reflect the respect I have for everything Tarana Burke and the #MeToo movement has achieved," Robbins said in a statement, referencing the woman credited with starting the movement in 2006. "I apologize for suggesting anything other than my profound admiration for the #MeToo movement."The video shows Robbins towering over McCool, and at one point using his fist to push her to metaphorically show how some women are using the movement."If you use the #MeToo movement to try to get significance and certainty by attacking and destroying someone else, you haven't grown an ounce. (KGTV) — The mother of a 13-year-old boy killed crossing San Miguel Avenue in Lemon Grove may sue the city for not making the street safer.Tanya Harris, whose son Trevon died in May, filed a claim against the city of Lemon Grove for allegedly ignoring continuing issues on the two-lane road. On May 3, Trevon was crossing the street after visiting a friend's house when he was hit by a car and killed. Tanya and Trevon's brother, Ty, who is only nine, arrived to see him lifeless on the asphalt."When I came up on the road, I immediately saw the body on the road," Tanya said. "When I pulled over, I ran out because I knew it was my child's body that was on the ground."Tanya says Trevon had an infectious smile and had dreams of playing professional basketball. Tanya and Ty are now in grief counseling, which Tanya said is helping.Meanwhile, San Miguel Avenue remains a two-lane road, and the area Trevon was hit doesn't have any speed bumps or stop signs. That's the basis for the claim, which accuses the city of ignoring the risks for years. "It has gravel all over it, and divots and pots, which causes drivers to skid and slide" said Rhonda Holmes, an attorney representing Tanya Harris. "More importantly, people are known to speed down that road."Lemon Grove City Manager Lydia Romero said the city can't comment on pending litigation. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department said its traffic investigator found no fault on the part of the driver, and that Trevon darted out into traffic. Tanya wants the city of Lemon Grove to install speed bumps or stop signs by next month, when San Miguel Elementary School starts.
