SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- A woman was arrested after she allegedly threw a bag full of vomit at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City.West Valley police say Shaynell Pamela Payne, 25, entered the hospital's emergency room Tuesday night. After her arrival, Payne allegedly became argumentative and combative with the hospital staff.After Payne threw up in the emergency room, staff members handed her towels to clean up the vomit. When she threw up a second time in a bag, Payne reportedly became agitated when asked to calm down and threw the bag of vomit at a nurse.According to a police report, Payne attempted to leave the hospital after striking the nurse and assaulting other members of the medical staff.A police officer attempted to arrest Payne, who tried to grab the officer's hands and pull away. San Diegans were reminded again this weekend that what was formerly known as Qualcomm Stadium is not the city's most glamorous place. The lights just turned off in the middle of San Diego State’s game winning drive against Stanford on Saturday. But the aging San Diego Stadium, as its currently known, appears to be primed for yet another new chapter - even as public officials debate how the site should be redeveloped.  San Diego County Credit Union, which already sponsors the Holiday bowl, is stepping up with 0,000 to place its name on the stadium until the end of next year.  But that's not all.  The credit union’s proposal to the City Council outlines plans to market the venue. The goal is to bring in even more events, including concerts, soccer games, weddings, birthday parties, fireworks, corporate softball, seminars and team building.  Its four key objectives are: Introduce, build and increase awareness of SDCCU StadiumPromote and Increase awareness and attendance of evnets atking place at SDCCU StadiumPosition SDCCU Stadium as the most desired venue in the city of San Diego host any and all types of eventsDrive additional revenue to the stadium. Isidro Cardenas, who enjoyed the tailgate scene at charger games, says he'd like more activity at the stadium “I’d like to see it used for the local sport avenue here in our San Diego County,” he said. “Whatever we can do to help along, so now that the Chargers are gone bring in more colleges to play there. The proposal also says the credit union would install five ATMs on site.The City Council will consider the plan at its meeting Tuesday.  A spokeswoman for the credit union said more details would be released if the city council approves the naming rights plan.   1810

SALT LAKE CITY — Some pornographic websites are beginning to comply with a new Utah law requiring that warning labels be attached to adult-oriented materials.At least three major porn sites — Pornhub, XTube and RedTube — have begun attaching an opt-in notification for visitors from Utah, which says that the state believes pornographic materials can be harmful if viewed by minors."It shows for a lot of businesses, they're more concerned about their pocketbook than they are about being prosecuted," said Rep. Brady Brammer, R-Highland, who sponsored the bill earlier this year.Brammer's bill got national attention, and he faced pushback and threats of lawsuits from the adult entertainment industry when it debuted earlier this year. XHamster, another adult website, even trolled the bill by posting a parody warning on its site for Utah viewers to see.Brammer watered down the original bill, and it passed the legislature. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, a Republican, allowed it to go into law without his signature.The law allows people to bring a private civil action in court against a site for displaying "obscene" materials, but it would require someone to go to court and have something declared "obscene."A trade group representing the porn industry said it advises websites not to comply with the new law, believing it is still unconstitutional."No matter the message, the First Amendment restricts the government's ability to compel speech. Individual companies may choose to comply because it's easier than facing lawsuits or fines. We've never advised our members to comply, and don't believe this is being done in any widespread manner, but respect that a business may make decisions that limit potential liability," Mike Stabile, a spokesman for the Free Speech Coalition, said in an email. "As with similar, previous legislation in Utah, we'll eventually see the law challenged and overturned, and at no small expense to the Utah taxpayer. That's unfortunate, because that money and energy could be spent educating people about actually effective methods of protection, like parental filters."An email sent to Pornhub requesting comment on why it began posting warning labels was not immediately returned.While no websites have challenged the law in court, Brammer believes it will hold up."So far, it's been a lot of talk. I don't think that they will, if they do bring a legal challenge, I don't think they'll be able to succeed on that," Brammer said. "We have a difference of opinion on that. They haven't felt confident enough yet to bring a legal challenge and most of the companies, rather than make the challenge and spend the money on that, they're complying."Brammer said he ultimately would like to expand the legislation to allow for people to sue an adult website, even if they don't know who owns it.But he said he was not planning to bring that forward in the 2021 legislative session that begins in January. Other states have expressed interest in running similar legislation, he said.Brammer said the warning label law has already alerted parents when their child was re-directed to an adult site, and it's educated them about parental filters.He insisted his bill did not block adults from viewing pornography, just minors."If that's where they want to go, they're going to get there. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 53-year-old woman caught in the crossfire of an argument between two men in the Mountain View neighborhood of San Diego suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said Saturday morning.The men were arguing at 37th Street and Ocean View Boulevard about 11:40 p.m. Friday, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The victim was sitting in a vehicle that was between the two men as they argued. During the argument one of the men pulled a gun and shot at the other man, but struck the women in her left hip, Heims said.The woman drove away and police found her about a block away. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of her gunshot wound, he said.No other injuries were reported.A detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available. 818
