China has witnessed rapid economic development over the past three decades. Yet it has come at a price, as industrial activity has degraded air, water and soil quality nationwide. In key areas, such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei cluster, smog has become a major headache for residents and local authorities.
China is ready to work with Saudi Arabia to jointly explore a governance path in the Middle East featuring the moves of "promoting peace through development" and to work toward a solid foundation for peace and stability in the region through jointly building the Belt and Road and strengthening regional development cooperation, said Xi.
China is also willing to join hands with Japan to strengthen coordination in international and regional affairs and push bilateral ties forward in a steady way, he said.
China has worked hard to analyze and pattern its developing industry after Hollywood's globally successful 100-year-old system. Building a multi-billion dollar industry from scratch is no easy task when it is subject to an ultrasteep learning curve, vagaries of the global market, cultural disconnects, creative challenges, et cetera.
