PHOENIX — The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee have filed a new lawsuit in Arizona, claiming Maricopa County poll workers "incorrectly rejected votes" cast by in-person voters on Election Day.The lawsuit alleges when the voting machine detected an "overvote" on a ballot, the poll workers told in-person voters to "press a green button to override the error." This reportedly caused the machine to dismiss the voter's choices in the overvoted races, according to the Trump campaign. An overvote is when someone selects more than one option or candidate in a race. "Upon information and belief, the adjudication and tabulation of these ballots will prove determinative of the outcome of the election for President of the United States in Arizona and/or other contested offices in Maricopa County," the lawsuit states.The campaign says they have received information from voters who say they witnessed the problem and that it happened on a large scale in the county.“Poll workers struggled to operate the new voting machines in Maricopa County, and improperly pressed and told voters to press a green button to override significant errors,” said Matt Morgan, Trump 2020 campaign general counsel, in a statement. “The result is that the voting machines disregarded votes cast by voters in person on Election Day in Maricopa County.”The lawsuit urges for "the manual inspection of purportedly overvoted ballots that were cast in-person, the same way that elections officials examined overvoted ballots that were mailed in or dropped off," according to a press release from the Trump campaign.Read the full lawsuit below, or click here: The lawsuit was announced Saturday evening, following projections from the Associated Press earlier in the day that Joe Biden had won the presidency after Pennsylvania and Nevada were called for the former vice president.The suit is one of multiple filed by Trump's campaign in states that were reporting close margins between Trump and Biden. PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Central Florida man is on a mission to do something nobody else has ever done: become the first person with Down Syndrome to complete a full Ironman.Chris Nikic has become an inspiration to people around the world and it started with a simple mission.Nik Nikic encouraged his son to push himself 1% more each day.“We came up with this concept of just get a little better today than yesterday,” Nik explained.Now, 21-year-old Chris is about to do something incredible. On November 7, he’ll swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a full 26.2 mile marathon in Panama City Beach.“I want to inspire others so that they can be like me and so that one day they can do it too,” Chris said with a smile.If he completes the race within 17 hours, Chris will be the first person with Down Syndrome to ever finish an Ironman.He also has a message for the other competitors: “You better watch out, because I’m going to beat you!”“Really, you’re going to beat all of them?” his dad asked.“Yeah!” Chris answered enthusiastically.Chris has spent several months swimming off the coast of Pinellas County as he trains with coach Dan Grieb for the big race and gets used to the choppy Gulf of Mexico waters.“I’ve learned that you can teach anybody anything if you’re willing to love them through their disability or love them through their struggle,” Grieb added.Chris has been documenting his journey on social media. Pink ice is causing the scientific community some concern. The Presena Glacier in northern Italy appears pink because of algae on it, which scientists say could speed up melting of the ice.The Presena Glacier is in the Alps, just south of Italy’s border with Switzerland. While there is debate about where the algae came from, Biagio Di Mauro of Italy’s National Research Council told The Guardian the pink snow observed on parts of the Presena glacier is likely caused by the same plant found in Greenland. 515
