SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A dog owner is making desperate plea for the return of her puppy after a burglary at her Spring Valley home."Up all night crying ... I can barely see through my eyes," said Ashley Morales.The Morales' family dog Snuffles, a 4-month old Pekachu, was inside their condo just after 9 a.m. Sunday. Two of Morales' children, ages 11 and 13, were sleeping in a bedroom when the strangers broke in. She and her husband weren't planning on being gone long. They were going to the grocery store to buy items for breakfast.Morales and her husband left the door unlocked, and that is how the intruders got in. A neighbor called them during their shopping trip to report something suspicious.When the couple got home less than an hour later, they made a terrifying discovery. Their bedroom was ransacked. A few feet away, their kids' bedroom was untouched. The door had been shut and her kids had slept through it. "We ran upstairs and hugged our kids. This could have turned out so much worse," said Morales.Deputies say the suspects were captured in a neighbor's surveillance camera, which shows them walking in and out of the condo. In one clip, a woman is seen walking out with what appears to be a television. Morales say they also got away with a box of her jewelry."Some of the jewelry my father gave me before he passed away," said Morales.But Morales says her most painful loss is her puppy, which was nowhere to be found. Morales believes the intruders took him."My dog doesn't leave anywhere. If he had gotten out, he would have stayed close to home. I felt like one of my kids was kidnapped. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 24-year-old woman died early Saturday after a crash in the Paradise Hills neighborhood of San Diego.Officers responded to the 6400 block of Garber Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. and found the woman unconscious behind the wheel of a 2017 Ford Mustang.Police say the woman appeared to be driving in the southbound lane of Garber Ave. and for unknown reasons collided into an unoccupied parked rental box truck.The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.Traffic investigators are investigating. 547

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A coffee shop owner in City Heights has planted a handful of coffee trees in his garden. He plans to be at the forefront of the "small-batch coffee" movement growing across San Diego."I'm learning more and more about coffee, and it's just becoming way more intriguing to me, and it's fascinating," says Justin Boone, the owner of Burly and the Bean.Boone says he planted his first tree about 18 months ago, after talking to friends about the idea. He got more interested as he heard of local farms planting the trees in large quantities."I guess it's a little risky," says Boone, "because I really don't know what the outcome is going to be."Boone says his trees won't produce enough beans to harvest for another 2-3 years. But he's excited to taste the first cup from his crop.Meanwhile, coffee is becoming a trendy new crop across the County.Frinj Coffee currently manages around a dozen farms in San Diego that have planted coffee trees. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The wife of an active-duty Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton is due in court Thursday on charges of sexually abusing a 15-year-old foreign exchange student who was living with her family on the base.Nicole Marie Wilson, 22, is accused of engaging in sex acts with the unidentified teen on Sept. 20 against his wishes, according to court documents.A detention hearing is scheduled Thursday morning for Wilson, who pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a single count of sexual abuse of a minor in San Diego federal court.Court documents allege Wilson sat next to the boy on the living room couch and asked him to promise that he wouldn't tell her husband, no matter "whatever happens tonight."After their initial encounter made him uncomfortable, the boy told investigators he went to sleep and awoke to Wilson touching him, then performing oral sex on him. She asked him twice whether she should continue, and one time he said, "No," yet she continued anyway, then later had sexual intercourse with him, according to the criminal complaint.She later "apologized" to him "and acknowledged" that it was not consensual, the documents allege.Wilson allegedly told Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigators she had been drinking on Sept. 20 and "blacked out" while watching television with the boy, but denied anything sexual occurred. But a search of her cell phone revealed WhatsApp messages between herself and the teen that confirmed the sexual encounter, court documents allege.It was not clear how long the teen had been living with the family, nor what country he traveled from as part of the foreign exchange program. 1648

She told Christopher Dougherty he doesn’t have the right to prefer his kid’s expenses over his creditors.Today the judge ruled Dougherty will be in Chapter seven bankruptcy, meaning that he and his wife are no longer in charge of their own assets.A trustee will investigate and liquidate those assets.Dougherty is being accused of running a Ponzi scheme targeting mostly elderly victims who planning for retirement and taking more than million, according to bankruptcy court records.In bankruptcy court documents, the United States Trustee wrote Dougherty’s “deception is the basis of a Ponzi scheme.”“[Their] practice of using new investment money to pay existing investors dividends and the principal gave the false impression that the payments received by investors came from earnings and profits or from a return of their principal,” the documents said.The San Diego County Sheriff's Department tells 10News there is a criminal investigation into Christopher Dougherty with at least 30 potential victims.The Securities and Exchange Commission also has an open investigation into Dougherty. 1237
