The Stallion Springs, California Police Department is warning the public about a cell phone "spoofing" scam that's going around asking for personal information. The spoofing scam appears to look like a legitimate phone call as the caller ID is displayed as the victim's own cellphone number.A voice recording identifies the call is coming from AT&T, and advises the victim that their cellphone account has been compromised and they may be a victim of fraud. The voice recording then asks for the victim to confirm their personal information, specifically asking for the last four digits of their social security number.AT&T confirmed to Stallion Springs Police that this is a phone scam. Police advise that if you receive calls like this, to not answer them. This will in turn give the surrounding trees more space to grow, Hillary Santanez, recreation event coordinator with the White River National Forest, explained to KMGH.Thinning the forests in this fashion reduces competition for resources and nutrients so the other trees can grow stronger and healthier, Santanez said. It also helps the trees handle stressful environmental situations, such as drought. In addition, thinning dense forests can help with wildfire mitigation.Families who have a fourth or fifth grader can get a free permit from the Every Kid Outdoors initiative through the US Forest Service. The United States says they are delivering critical supplies to Lebanon after the deadly port explosion on Tuesday.The United States Air Force said in a press release that planes at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were getting supplies out to help the Lebanon people after more than 100 people were killed in a deadly blast in Beirut.Officials said members of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Mobility Command’s 8th Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron and 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron on Al Udeid Air Base, and the Area Support Group-Qatar from Camp As Sayliyah helped in the delivery of the aid.“Support of this magnitude at such speed wouldn’t be possible without the joint effort of all members of Al Udeid Air Base, our U.S. Army counterparts at Camp As Sayliyah and our gracious Qatari partners,” said Brig.
