RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia judge has dissolved one injunction but imposed another preventing Virginia's governor from removing an enormous statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. The new 90-day injunction bars the statue’s removal from Richmond's Monument Avenue while claims in a lawsuit filed by a group of property owners are litigated. Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has moved to dismiss the case, but the judge says the property owners have standing and could succeed on at least one of their claims. Gov. ROSEMEAD (CNS) - Residents across Southern California were checking their homes and apartments this morning for any damage caused by a magnitude 4.5 earthquake that struck two miles south of Rosemead and was felt across a large portion of the region, including Orange County.The quake struck at 11:38 p.m. Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Rocky, the owl recently rescued from the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, was released into the wild on Tuesday, completing a long journey that started from the world’s most famous Christmas tree.The Ravensbeard Wildlife Center showed video of Rocky’s majestic release into the wild on its Facebook page. The center is located about 100 miles north of New York City.The wildlife center said it released Rocky shortly before nightfall so the owl could find safe harbor for the night. It is believed that Rocky will join other owls in the region and head south for the winter.“She is a tough little bird and we're happy to see her back in her natural habitat. We are sure that Rocky will feel your love and support through her journey south,” the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center said in a Facebook post.It is believed that Rocky made the 170-mile trek with the tree. Daniel Prude died March 30 when his family took him off life support, seven days after officers who encountered him running naked through the street put a hood over his head to stop him from spitting, then held him down for about two minutes until he stopped breathing.Wednesday, Prude’s family held a news conference and released police body camera video obtained through a public records request that captured his fatal interaction with the officers.Prude had been taken to a Rochester hospital for a mental health evaluation about eight hours before the encounter that led to his death. He was released back into the care of his family and then abruptly ran into the street and took off his clothes.A medical examiner concluded that Prude’s death was a homicide caused by “complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint.” The report lists excited delirium and acute intoxication by phencyclidine, or PCP, as contributing factors.New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office took over the investigation of the death in April.
