Reporters from many news organizations have expressed support for CNN's Jim Acosta after the White House revoked his press pass. The "hard pass," which speeds up entry to the White House grounds, was suspended by the Trump administration on Wednesday night "until further notice." Why? Because of Acosta's combative exchange with President Donald Trump at his post-midterms press conference. It is unclear whether Acosta will be turned away again on Thursday. It also remains to be seen whether White House reporters will walk out, or show solidarity with Acosta and CNN in other ways.Acosta is CNN's chief White House correspondent. He was trying to reenter the White House grounds for a live shot on "Anderson Cooper 360" when he was stopped by Secret Service officers. Within minutes, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders had announced the suspension. 865

President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House Saturday that this would be a "good time" for a government shutdown if he doesn't get funding from Congress for his border wall."I think probably, if I was ever going to do a shutdown over border security, when you look at the caravans, when you look at the mess, when you look at the people coming in, this would be a very good time to do a shutdown," Trump said.Trump added, however, that he didn't think a shutdown would "be necessary, because I think the Democrats will come to their senses."With the midterm elections now over, Congress is anticipating returning to a battle over Trump's promised border wall.Last month, House Speaker Paul Ryan predicted a "big fight" over border security on the horizon, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the GOP is "committed" to working to secure the funding the President wants for his signature campaign pledge. 934

REDMOND, Wash. (AP) — Microsoft is buying the company behind popular video games The Elder Scrolls, Doom and Fallout. The software giant said Monday that it is paying .5 billion for ZeniMax Media, the parent company of video game publisher Bethesda Softworks. Microsoft said it is buying Bethesda in part to beef up its Xbox Game Pass game subscription service, which it says has over 15 million subscribers. Bethesda games, such as Starfield, which is currently in development, will launch on Xbox Game Pass the same day they launch on Xbox or computers. Microsoft has new consoles debuting on Nov. 10, the Xbox Series X and stripped down Series S version. 667

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell predicted Wednesday that if Democrats take control of the House of Representatives and start investigating President Donald Trump, it could backfire on the party and create a political advantage for the President."I think it will help the President get re-elected," McConnell said during an interview with The Associated Press when asked about the possibility that Democrats could "launch many, many investigations into the President and the administration," into matters such as Trump's tax returns and his business empire, if they win the House in the midterm elections.McConnell suggested that if Democrats were to pursue that strategy, voters would turn against them. The majority leader recalled what he described as the "price" that Republicans paid for impeaching Democratic President Bill Clinton in the 1990s.McConnell said many congressional Republicans thought they would have "a great year in '98," but instead "it worked exactly the opposite.""The public got mad at us and felt sympathy for President Clinton," he said.McConnell warned, "So this business of presidential harassment may or may not quite be the winner they think it is." 1215

Rachel Peterson was already having a tough time of it when she called a supermarket chain's pharmacy to get a prescription filled. Then the pharmacist made things worse.Peterson says back in July a pharmacist at a Meijer pharmacy in Petoskey, Michigan, refused to fill her prescription for a drug to treat her miscarriage because of his religious beliefs. She's working with the American Civil Liberties Union to change Meijer's policy and is willing to go to court if need be to keep what happened to her from happening to another woman. 545
