PINE VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - Snow came down steadily and heavy at times in the Pine Valley area of East San Diego County Thursday. At Sunrise Hwy and Old Highway 80, the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans established a checkpoint requiring snow chains to proceed toward higher elevations of Mt. Laguna. The drive eastbound on Interstate 8 from San Diego was largely heavy rain and wind until Highway 79, when the rain turned to snow at about 3,700 feet. Both companies are still recruiting pharmacists, nurses and pharmacy technicians.“I am absolutely supportive of getting a vaccine and I will be the first in line when I am eligible to get one. I believe in vaccines. I believe in the science of vaccines,” said Tasha Polster, who deals with pharmacy quality, compliance and patient safety at Walgreens.Once the vaccine is more widely available, people will be able to sign up online to get the vaccine at a pharmacy location.Walgreens plans to work with communities to set up COVID-19 vaccine sites in other locations, like they do with the flu shot.“We work with churches and local community centers in underserved populations to bring the vaccine to those patients that would you know need them,” said Polster.Speaking of the flu, the pandemic has brought some encouraging news on that front.Walgreens created special map models to show what the flu season has done so far this year compared to last year. Phoenix police say a young mother reported missing after her baby was?abandoned has been found dead. Police say the body of Jasmine Dunbar, 21, was found by police aircraft late Wednesday afternoon in the area of 107th Avenue and Camelback Road. Officials are awaiting official identification of the body through scientific analysis, but the body has been tentatively identified as Dunbar.The body had significant burn evidence.Dunbar was last seen with her ex-boyfriend Antwaun Travon Ware, 20, on Tuesday night.Family members told Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix she left home with Ware and her 7-month-old baby around 7:30 p.m. The infant was found alone in her car seat along the road near 83rd and Minnezona avenues around 10 p.m.Police located Ware at his home on Wednesday morning and he agreed to come to police headquarters for an interview.Due to evidence collected, police developed probable cause to arrest Ware on one count of first-degree murder, kidnapping, abandonment of a body and child abuse. PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Officials have made an arrest in the cold case of Alissa Turney, a 17-year-old girl who went missing in Arizona in 2001.The Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced second-degree murder charges against Alissa's stepfather, Michael Roy Turney, according to a press conference Thursday.Alissa went missing at the end of the school year in 2001 and was first reported as a runaway by Michael Turney, according to officials.Michael called in the runaway report, telling authorities that she had left a note and was going to California.In 2008, new information was brought to light and officials began a criminal investigation into Alissa's disappearance. Officials conducted 200 interviews with coworkers, friends, and family.When a search warrant was issued on Michael's residence, they discovered a bombing plot, at which point he was brought into custody in 2008.Officials say Michael took a plea deal and served 10 years in prison in the bombing plot, unrelated to Alissa's disappearance.He was arrested Thursday afternoon by police in Mesa in connection to her presumed death.
