INDIANAPOLIS -- Police say the body of a "small adult" was found inside a tote in the back of a U-Haul van n Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon.Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 4000 block of S East Street just before 1:30 p.m. after someone found the body inside a vehicle on the U-Haul property. A spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the body was found in a tote bag in the back of a van. INDIANAPOLIS -- The Food and Safety Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for salad and wrap products that were produced by an Indianapolis company because they may be contaminated with Cyclospora. The recall is for beef, pork and poultry salad and wrap products that were distributed by Caito Foods LLC. The products were produced between July 15 and July 18 and were sold at a number of popular retail locations including Kroger, Trader Joe's and Walgreens. All affected products have a "Best By," "Enjoy By," "Best if Sold By," or "Sell By" date ranging from July 18 through July 23. Product labels, UPC codes and other information can be found HERE. The FSIS says they are concerned that the products may still be in consumers' refrigerators and that consumers may be at risk due to the length of the Cyclospora incubation period. Cyclospora is an intestinal illness by a microscopic parasite that is transmitted contaminated food or water, according to the CDC. It can take up to a week before someone who becomes infected shows any signs or symptoms of the illness, which infects the small intestine and usually causes watery diarrhea with frequent, sometimes explosive bowl movements. Other common symptoms include: 1284

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Allegiant Airlines flight from Indianapolis to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was forced to make an emergency landing Sunday evening after a “noxious smell” was detected in the cabin.Allegiant Flight 1878 took off from the Indianapolis International Airport at 3:00 p.m. Sunday. It was scheduled to land at Myrtle Beach International Airport at 4:27 p.m.Mid-flight, however, flight attendants came on the intercom and informed passengers that the plane was going to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport due to a “noxious smell” in the cabin.The plane landed at Asheville Regional Airport, where passengers were asked to deplane. A passenger aboard the flight told Scripps station WRTV in Indianapolis that as she did so she could smell a “burning, smoky smell” near the cabin.In a statement to WRTV, Allegiant said the flight was diverted to Asheville "out of an abundance of caution to check out an electrical odor. INDIANAPOLIS -- Josh McDaniels was all set to clean out his office and travel to Indianapolis to be announced as the Colts' new head coach on Feb. 6. Instead, he talked with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick, and had a change of heart that many Colts fans will never forgive. In his first interview since spurning the Colts to return to the Patriots, McDaniels apologized for what happened in a wild 24 hours in early February. "I apologize to anyone who was affected in any way. Indianapolis did a tremendous job," McDaniels told the Boston Globe. "They have a tremendous organization and I was lucky to be considered and I just think once I found out [about his role in New England], I made the right decision for me and my family at this time.’’McDaniels was given no guarantees about taking over for any future positions, such as taking over for Belichick when he retires, but did have his contract adjusted, the Globe reported.
