Some of the things you buy on eBay or Amazon could be going up in price, but President Donald Trump argues it will be better for American business.President Trump plans to withdraw from an old postal agreement that has allowed Chinese companies to ship small packages to the United States at a discounted price, often cheaper than what it costs for Americans to send things.“Products coming in from China, for instance, can come all the way from Shanghai to L.A. and have to pay a lower cost than if you or I wanted to ship a product across the street,” says Linda Dempsey, the VP of international economic affairs at the National Association of Manufacturers.The National Association of Manufacturers says the move will only impact smaller items, say for example, yoga pants on eBay. This particular example only costs a dollar, plus there’s no charge for shipping, although they’re coming from China. But, while you might not pay for shipping on this particular order, you’re paying for it in other ways you might not know about.“We might not see it in that package, say of yoga pants that's being shipped, but we're paying the subsidy through taxpayer dollars,” explains Dempsey. “We're paying for it as consumers when we go to the postal service and send a small package. We're paying higher rates for that because the postal service is being forced to subsidize these foreign shippers into the United States.”Critics also argue the cheaper rates hurt American businesses, and the president's proposal could help keep or create jobs in the United States.“It gives manufactures a fair chance at competing in the U.S. systems,” says Dempsey.While prices might go up for some products, there could be an upside for consumers.“We'll see how much those packages go up in terms of the foreign packages coming in,” Dempsey says. “We'll also be looking to see if the package prices for U.S. shipments will be going down.” 1925

The links also could install malware on your computer.In a photo, the very real-looking email it asks users to update their payment details, saying the account is on hold."Hi Dear, We're having some trouble with your current billing information. We'll try again, but in the meantime you may want to update your payment details," the email reads, with a link to update the account.Netflix said if you believe you have received a fraudulent email appearing to be from the company, never enter your details, never click on any links and do not reply to it. SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) -- Solana Beach’s alternative to San Diego Gas and Electric appears to be in store for financial headwinds. A new city report says that the Solana Energy Alliance could run at a deficit for the next two years, which look to be more challenging than originally forecast. The city launched the alliance in June to help the city reach its goal of 100 percent renewable energy by 2035 and provide competition to SDG&E. Currently, more than 90 percent of Solana Beach energy and businesses buy their electricity from the alliance. It saves them about 2 percent from SDG&E. “They’re definitely stepping into deep water to try to do this themselves,” said Solana Beach resident Ed Radcliffe. “I hope they do it right.”Solana Beach City Councilman Peter Zahn said overall the energy program is healthy. It has high enrollment and is paying off expenses from the launch. He said it had higher revenues than expected while also having higher expenses than expected. Zahn said the report examined the alliance’s first three months, so it’s still early. He added a big hit came from a recent Public Utilities Commission decision to hike the exit fees residents pay SDG&E to buy it elsewhere. The Solana Beach city report says the fees could rise by as much as 50 percent. “While we are not happy with some of the factors that have influenced this - like the exit fee - we are really optimistic about going out into the future,” Zahn said.The report said higher energy prices and lower SDG&E electricity generation rates are also impacting revenue.In October, the city of San Diego announced plans to create its own alternative to SDG&E, called a Community Choice Aggregator. A spokesman for Mayor Kevin Faulconer says comparing Solana Beach’s organization to what is in store in San Diego is apples to oranges. SPRING VALLEY (KGTV) - San Diego County Sheriff's Department deputies are investigating a Spring Valley stabbing that left one man dead and a woman injured.Deputies responded to calls about a stabbing just before midnight Friday at an apartment complex at 3560 James Circle, said Lt. Thomas Seiver of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.First responders rushed a man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, Seiver said.
