A 36-year-old Washington woman is claiming that a DNA test she took on Ancestry.com showed that her biological father was her parents' fertility doctor, the Washington Post reported. According to the Washington Post, Kelli Rowlette's DNA test claimed that she had a parent-child relationship with Gerald E. Mortimer, a fertility doctor in Idaho. Rowlette said she did not know her mother used artificial insemination. The doctor had diagnosed Rowlette's father with low sperm count and her mother with a tipped uterus. Mortimer recommended inseminating Rowlette's mother with sperm from both her husband and an anonymous sperm donor. According to the Washington Post, the couple asked for a donor who was at least 6-foot-tall, in college and had brown hair and blue eyes. Mortimer had told her parents that he used a match for the sperm donation. Mortimer did not meet Rowlette's parents standards for sperm donation. Mortimer was also listed as Rowlette's delivery doctor, and signed her birth certificate. A lawsuit has been filed in federal court against Mortimer for fraud and medical negligence.To read the Washington Post's full report, click here.  1273

(KGTV) — National Geographic and Fox Networks will investigate astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson over allegations of sexual misconduct, according to reports.Accounts by two women were published Thursday, claiming Tyson misbehaved in a sexually inappropriate manner with them, according to Patheos.com. The women, a Bucknell University professor and former assistant to Tyson according to the accounts, both claimed the astrophysicist made inappropriate sexual advances toward them.Tyson has not commented on the allegations against him, according to the Associated Press. In a statement to the AP, the producers of the television show "Cosmo" said: "The credo at the heart of 'Cosmos' is to follow the evidence wherever it leads. The producers of 'Cosmos' can do no less in this situation."Tyson was the host of "Cosmos" on Fox in 2014 and a new edition of the series was set to air on National Geographic next year sometime. (KGTV) — Whale watchers off the coast of Dana Point were recently treated to the sighting of a lifetime.A rare gray orca calf was spotted swimming in a pod of whales by a pilot, before the message was relayed to Capt. Todd Mansur of Dana Wharf Whale Watching.Mansur said the sighting by itself was a rare occasion on its own."The feeling you get when you get to see, not only orcas, but then to see that baby and how it stood out so much," Mansur recalls. "I've been doing this for longer than most people have been alive. And I have had killer whale encounters in Southern California less than 10 times."The gray orca is one of two that have recently been documented by scientists. The other was seen off the coast of British Columbia."There were people on the boat that were crying. That's how excited they were," Mansur said.Mansur says there's no way to know what gives the rare orca its gray color. It could be a gene or a disease."Unless we actually collect a DNA sample from all of them and scientifically match things up," Mansur said. "But for the passengers on board, it was the spot of a lifetime." 1117
