SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Crime Stoppers released photos Wednesday to find a man and woman suspected of two armed robberies in Otay Mesa and Pacific Beach. The first robbery happened the afternoon of Sunday, July 28 at Tepito Club, a clothing store at 2364 Roll Drive. Police said the pair selected merchandise and approached the clerk, then the woman pulled a gun and demanded cash. The couple took the money and drove off in a blue Toyota Corolla. One day later, police said the two suspects gathered items at the Chevron gas station at 1575 Garnet Ave., eventually demanding cash from the clerk. The man and woman walked away from the area with the money, police said. The suspects are both white, according to Crime Stoppers. The woman is 5’6”, thin, and was wearing a black tank top and grey leggings. The man has a medium build, and is about 30 years old with tattoos. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — As former San Diego State star Kawhi Leonard readies for his Los Angeles Clippers debut Tuesday, another Aztec will also start the season on an active NBA roster.SDSU's Jalen McDaniels was signed to a multi-year contract and placed on the 17-man roster for the Charlotte Hornets Sunday, the team announced. McDaniels left SDSU after his sophomore season last spring and was picked 52nd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft.The 6-10 forward led the Aztecs in rebound average, total steals, and was second in scoring average last season. McDaniels signed with the Hornets on Oct. 10 under an unguaranteed Exhibit 10 contract, before the team converted it to a two-way contract on Saturday — meaning he could go back and forth between Charlotte's G League-affiliate, Greensboro Swarm, and the NBA. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Border officials say they have received enough funding to replace 100 miles of border fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border.The Trump Administration will put forth about .6 billion through the 2018 Congressional appropriations.  The new border wall provides a comprehensive system of wall, lighting, and technologies, Acting Commissioner Ronald Vitiello said during a press conference Friday.In San Diego, a total of 28 miles of border barrier will be replaced. Fourteen miles of "dilapidated" border wall constructed with landing mats will be replaced with new steel bollard wall, according to Vitiello. "It started when I was reading a Wall Street report saying google search results were bias and it was shocking to me."Agastya created a Google platform mock-up that surveyed people's perceptions on political candidates, based on search engine results. "I had a few political search results which were arranged in 5 different orders, one favoring a liberal, one favoring a conservative. Once I got the results back, I was shocked how much it changed people's perspectives by 30%."And it wasn't just his creativeness that got the judge's attention. He was also asked to answer two questions, one to offer a solution to the global wildfire issue. "You'd have a fleet of drones that'd detect fires with image processions and AI, that was my idea for solving the wildfires." His sharp responses then placed him in the top 30. "I just freaked out, it was incredible."Next month, Agastya will be competing in the final round as the contest goes virtual for the first time amid COVID-19.
