(KGTV) - About 400 horses displaced by the Lilac Fire will move back to their original home at San Luis Rey Downs next week, according to trainers at the Del Mar Racetrack.The horses have been living in Del Mar's stables since the fire tore through the downs on December 7. Nearly 50 horses died in the fire, and several trainers and stable workers were also injured.Del Mar has become their second home in the four months since."I joke that it's like losing your home and being put up in a proper hotel,"' says trainer Ed Freeman.He has 16 horses living at Del Mar and says he's not sure what the emotions will be like returning to the site of one of the worst days of his life."I'm a little worried it will be stressful for the workers," Freeman says. "Our barn isn't there, we'll be in a new spot. But it's still going back to the scene of the crime."Del Mar racing officials had targeted mid-April for the move-out. They need their stables back to begin preparations for this summer's racing season. Chairman and CEO Gary Kelly said Monday that unless the federal government gives airlines more money, Southwest will have to sharply cut spending to avoid losing billions of dollars every quarter until a coronavirus vaccine is widely available. DENVER – Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser will investigate whether criminal charges are warranted against anyone involved in the death of Elijah McClain, Gov. When they arrived, they contacted McClain, who they claimed resisted when the officers tried to detain him, police said.A struggle ensued, and a responding officer requested that a paramedic give McClain a dose of ketamine "due to the level of physical force applied while restraining the subject and his agitated mental state," officials said.But in the department's review of the incident earlier this year, the board found that the officers "had a lawful reason to contact Mr. McClain."The board also found that the force applied by officers — which included a carotid control hold — during the incident was "within policy and consistent with training."The carotid hold has since been banned by the department.The Adams County Coroner conducted the autopsy on McClain and ruled that the manner of his death was "undetermined," saying it could not determine whether his death was an accident, due to natural causes or a homicide.District Attorney Dave Young said in an interview Wednesday he has been inundated with calls and some attacks on him and his family.
