Customers are now required to wear masks inside their stores.Back on July 8, the company stated consumers must wear masks inside their stores. Two weeks later, they changed its policy to "request" face masks to be worn.Now, they require masks to be worn inside the store at all times."To best help protect one another, and in accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are requiring all Associates, customers, and vendors to wear face coverings when inside our stores," the company stated on its coronavirus response page on its website.The company also added that store employees would be provided with face coverings. 789

The coronavirus crisis has shown how generous people can be.When the pandemic started, animal advocates from all over North America got together and launched a massive fostering campaign.“I don’t think we ever thought people would be so willing to open up their homes to homeless pets,” said Kristen Hassen-Auerbach with Human Animal Support Services, a group educating others on how to reduce animal euthanasia.The group says the campaign resulted in nearly half of shelter pets going into foster care in April and May.In some places, the wait list was longer than the pets needing placement.“If this moment has taught us anything, it’s that we're all vulnerable. On any day, it could be any one of us that’s facing losing our homes or our pets and this is the time to help each other,” said Hassen-Auerbach.The group is now helping shelters evolve. They want a majority of animals that come into shelters to be in foster homes within hours or days. That frees up money to provide food and medical support to animal owners going through tough times.“We’re finding through early research that dogs in particular are only going a couple of houses to a couple of blocks away from their house. The calendar just turned to November but some companies are already in the Christmas spirit. Starbucks and McDonald's have already released their 2017 holiday cups.Starbucks scrapped its traditional red design for a DIY cup. There's a stack of presents, a Christmas tree, doves, two people holding hands and lots of white space. Customers are encouraged to color the cups themselves.  412

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a reminder to the public to stop washing and reusing condoms.The CDC said in a tweet that this reminder to all sexually-active Americans was sent out "because people do it." 229

The City of Glendale plans to vote on adding a permanent American flag to the top of Thunderbird Mountain. The Glendale Chamber Military and Veterans Affairs Committee sent a proposal to the city council asking to erect a flag. The committee will also manage it. Thunderbird Mountain falls within a conservation park, which means it is to be left as is. The picnic tables, garbage cans, and signage are all a part of the city's master plan, which is why they are allowed in the park. "We want people to enjoy it but not to disturb the wildlife the plants and not erect any structures in the park either, at least if they're not part of the master plan," said Vice-Mayor Lauren Tolmachoff. She is one of the council members voting to hold off on the change. "Not everybody on the council felt there was a conservation national park because there are signs and roads, and I disagree with that," she said. "You know there are roads in national parks, but they are still to be preserved and protected."No word on when the council will take an official vote, but it will likely be before the end of June.  1153
