BARTOW, Fla. — The grave of a U.S. veteran buried 19 years ago in Bartow, Florida was dug up, according to Bartow Police. His clothes were taken right off his body and found on the ground near the casket. Family members said they can’t understand who would do this. The grave belongs to 75-year-old Willie Graham, who was laid to rest in 1999 after he spent his entire life giving to others. He served in the Army during World War II and was a math teacher in Polk County for years. Graham is well known in the Bartow community, and his grave site is next to his mother and father and several other relatives."To take his funeral garb, his clothing off of him and just have it thrown on the ground, I just can't wrap my head around it,” said Cheryl Brown, Willie Graham’s niece. Her family came to the site Sunday to lay flowers down on her mother's grave when they noticed a blue tarp on top of Graham's grave site. According to police, it had been discovered by a city parks and recreation employee on May 10. "It had to take two or three people several hours to get this done. It had to be done at night where no one can see it,” said family member Otto Brown.  Family members are confused why police couldn’t find any of them to notify, but police said they don’t have records because it’s not city property.The report said police attempted to get information from the funeral home that did the burial 19 years ago, but said they also don’t own the property. Scripps station WFTS in Tampa reached out to Coney Funeral Home, and are waiting to hear back.Police said they are also trying to find out who did this. Brown said they don't bury their family members with valuables."That's a very evil human being that did this and the world could do without them,” Otto Brown said. Willie’s wife, who lives in Miami, can’t make it to the gravesite because she just had hip surgery, but said she is also sick to her stomach over this. "Right now what's important is for us to put my uncle back at rest,” Cheryl Brown said.The family is in contact with police at this point. Officers said they will work with the family to get this grave site cleaned up and back to where it should be.  2290

Body cam footage from Goodlettsville, Tennessee police shows officers interacting with a drunk Steven Rowe two hours before he crashed his car head-on into a car full of teenagers.Footage recorded at 1:30 a.m. on Jully 28, shows several officers confront Rowe outside Silverado's, a bar in Goodlettsville. Officers comment on how intoxicated Rowe appears to be. He's slow to respond to questions and seems confused about where he parked his car and has lost his keys.Rowe thinks somebody has stolen his car, but police tell him he's too drunk to make a report."You've got to have a place to go before we arrest you for a PI (public intoxication)," one officer said.Rowe, 28, died at the scene of a crash on Highway 40 at the southeastern edge of Greenbrier before 4:00 a.m. on July 28. He drifted over into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a Honda Element head on.Inside that car were four young people, all 18 or 19 years old. Toby MacFarlane is accused of paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to get his children into USC. The documents show that MacFarlane reportedly paid an agency to fabricate a soccer profile for his daughter and a basketball profile for his son.MacFarlane reportedly paid 0,000 to various organizations for the admissions. His daughter attended the school from 2014 to 2018 when she graduated, according to the documents. His son attended the school from 2017 to 2018.RELATED: Two San Diegans charged in college admissions schemeMacFarlane is being charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.Another San Diegan is also accused of participating in the scheme. Better known as “Hollywood,” William Difonzo, Jr. was accused of punching and killing a man at a bar in Lake Worth, Florida in February 2017.Prosecutors announced Friday they have dropped the manslaughter charge against Difonzo, 27, citing lack of evidence, in the wake of him claiming “Stand Your Ground.”Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Difonzo on June 26, claiming he fatally punched Sebastian Paz in the face at the suburban Lake Worth bar. Deputies say the altercation began when one of Paz’s friends tried saying hello to Difonzo in the parking lot of the bar, but Difonzo was upset and told the man to go away. A woman told the man to go inside because “Difonzo tends to be problematic,” the report states. The man went inside the bar, but shortly thereafter went back outside to smoke. Difonzo moved towards the man in the parking lot, clenching his fist. Paz jumped in between the two, looking to stop a potential fight.A second witness told investigators Paz “had his arms crossed invading Difonzo’s personal space” as an argument broke out between the men.Difonzo punched Paz hard in the face, according to the arrest report. Paz fell straight back onto the asphalt in the parking lock, hitting his head on a concrete parking stop. He immediately started bleeding from his mouth and nose.Difonzo left the scene right away, according to a detective’s notes.“Paz didn’t deserve to die,” a woman who witnessed the punch told investigators.Paz was declared deceased the next morning in the hospital. The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s office determined Paz’s cause of death was blunt force trauma and ruled the manner of death as a homicide. Four months later, Difonzo was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.Difonzo’s attorney Steven Bell said those witness’ stories changed once people were called into deposition. “All eyewitnesses have testified that they either did not see how the fight began or that Mr. Paz was the initial aggressor and [Difonzo] acted in self-defense,” Bell said.That’s why Bell says in December he filed a motion to dismiss the manslaughter charge against Difonzo based on statutory immunity, better known as the “Stand Your Ground” defense.In the motion, Bell cited a change in Florida law in June 2017 that shifts the burden of proof from the defense to the state. “It is now the state’s burden to show by clear and convincing evidence that [Difonzo] did not act in self-defense,” Bell wrote.  A hearing on the stand your ground defense was scheduled for March 26.Just days before, prosecutors announced they would no longer prosecute Difonzo on the manslaughter charge on Friday. Prosecutors said in court documents that “although there was probable cause to make an arrest, the evidence cannot prove all legally required elements of the crime alleged and is insufficient to support a criminal prosecution.”“It was dismissed because he stood his ground, he defended himself,” Bell told WPTV. “He was essentially cornered outside of a bar”But, he remains behind bars at the Palm Beach County Jail. Court records show Difonzo pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license in a crash that killed one of his passengers in Jan. 2013. He was sentenced to three years in prison and two years probation, which was scheduled to end on May 3. His license was suspended in 2011 for driving under the influence, records state. In addition to the manslaughter charge, Difonzo was charged with violating his probation for getting arrested. He was also charged with testing positive for drugs and not reporting to his probation officer from Jan. 2017 until the time of his arrest in June.Several court documents report Difonzo as a known gang member. On Monday, Difonzo pleaded guilty to violating his probation by testing positive for drugs and absconding from justice. The violation charge for his manslaughter arrest was dropped.He was sentenced to five years in prison, with credit for three and a half years he has already spent behind bars. Bell had asked the judge to sentence him to time served.“I respect the judge’s decision, but it’s not what he wanted,” Bell said.Bell said he was relieved for Difonzo and Difonzo’s family when he learned the state had dropped the manslaughter charge.“He was innocent so he was properly nolle prossed and dismissed.” Bell said Difonzo would have claimed “Stand Your Ground” even under the original rules of the law.Difonzo could have faced 15 years in prison if convicted of manslaughter, according to Bell.Former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja has also filed a "Stand Your Ground" motion to dismiss the manslaughter and attempted murder charges against him in the death of Corey Jones. BLACK FOREST, Colo. — A young buck gored a Black Forest woman Friday and now Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers have cited a neighbor for her illegal contact with the animal.CPW cited Tynette Housley, 73, with illegal possession of wildlife and illegally feeding wildlife after she told officers she took a days-old fawn into her home more than a year ago and raised it. They also issued a warning for possession of live wildlife without a license for keeping the animal in her home, garage, and property.CPW said the victim was walking her dog along a wooden path Friday morning when the 1.5-year-old buck attacked her. The victim told CPW she thought the deer wanted to be "snuggled" when it approached her. When she extended her hand to the deer, it lowered its antlers and jabbed her abdomen.The victim then grabbed the deer's antlers and they fell to the ground. It continued to gore her until she got to her feet, tried to run to a neighbor's home, and, eventually, her own garage. The deer continued to attack her until she ran between two cars in the garage to getaway.She was hospitalized for serious lacerations to the top of her head, left cheek and legs, but is expected to recover.A young buck approached an investigating CPW officer near the victim's home with blood on its antlers acting aggressively and the officer euthanized the deer.“This buck showed no fear of the woman and her dog. And when our officer responded to the scene, it approached within a few feet," said Frank McGee, area wildlife manager for the Pikes Peak region. "This tells me the deer was very comfortable around people. Dangerously comfortable. It viewed humans as a source of food.”According to CPW, human conflict with wildlife is increasing throughout Colorado, particularly in Front Range communities where human populations are expanding. McGee is concerned similar attacks will happen if people don't take state laws forbidding feeding wildlife seriously.“We had a young boy attacked in Colorado Springs in June. And we had a 72-year-old woman attacked and seriously injured in Black Forest in 2017. All three are lucky the results weren’t much worse,” McGee said.Housley could face up to ,098.50 in fines and surcharges from the two misdemeanors.The deer was taken to a lab to test it for rabies and other diseases. Its stomach contents confirmed humans were feeding the deer. The incident remains under investigation.“We can’t say it enough: Wild animals are not pets,” McGee said. “Feeding deer habituates them to humans. They lose their fear of humans and that leads to these outcomes that are tragic for both wildlife and people.
