BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- A seminar was held Monday on the recently-published book of important documents from between April, 1948 and January, 2009 of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's political advisory body.     Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, met with participants attending the seminar. The seminar was held Monday on the recently-published book of important documents from between April,1948 and January, 2009 of the CPPCC, China's political advisory body. This year marks not only the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China but also the establishment of the CPPCC.     The book consists of 142 important documents which are divided into three volumes. Some documents are being made public for the first time. XI'NING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday called for more efforts to promote development of the country's western regions during a visit to northwest China's Qinghai Province.     More efforts should be made to tap the advantages of local industries and adjust the economic structure, Li said during a visit that started Sunday and included factory workshops, farms and rural households.     In Qinghai Arura (Jinhe) Tibetan Medicine Company Limited, Li saw the company's efforts to process local agricultural products. BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday personally conveyed National Day greetings to elderly scientists who have made prominent contributions to atomic and medical research.     China's National Day this year will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of modern China. Premier Wen first visited Zhu Guangya, a nuclear physicist and one of the key scientists engaged in producing the first of China's atomic and hydrogen bombs between the 1950s and 1960s.     "You have devoted your whole life to the development of the country and service to the people. We will remember you with concern forever," Wen told 85-year-old Zhu. BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Prosecutors have approved the arrest of four employees of the Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto Ltd. on charges of trade secrets infringement and bribery, according to a statement of China's Supreme People's Procuratorate late Tuesday. Preliminary investigations have showed that the four employees, Stern Hu, Liu Caikui, Ge Minqiang and Wang Yong, had obtained commercial secrets of China's steel and iron industry through improper means, which had violated the country's Criminal Law, according to the statement.     Prosecution authorities also found evidence to prove that they were involved in commercial bribery. Four employees of the Anglo-Australian miner Rio Tinto Ltd. have been arrested over alleged stealing of China's state secrets, including Stern Hu, general manager of the company's Shanghai offic. The four people, including Hu, had been detained by China's security authorities Sunday evening    Investigations have also revealed that there were suspects in China's steel and iron enterprises who were providing commercial secrets for them.     The four were detained in Shanghai in early July on charges of stealing China's state secrets.          Stern Hu, an Australian citizen of Chinese origin, was general manager of the company's Shanghai office and was in charge of the iron ore business in China.     Hu was a long-standing employee of Rio Tinto and had lived in Shanghai for a number of years with his wife, who is also an Australian citizen.     The other three, who also worked in the Shanghai office, are Chinese employees of the company.
