NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A New Port Richey, Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl at his house while playing Grand Theft Auto, deputies say. The alleged rape was witnessed by another gamer who overheard the incident while playing the game with the suspect over PlayStation 4. Daniel Enrique Fabian, 18, was arrested on Wednesday, November 21 and charged with lewd and lascivious battery in connection to the incident which occurred on June 28, 2018. The 15-year-old girl was at Fabian's home at the time of the incident. Fabian is known to the victim. Fabian was playing Grand Theft Auto with another gamer when he told the other gamer he had a girl over at his house and he was going to "smash" her.Fabian stopped playing the game for 15 minutes and during that time, the other gamer says Fabian's microphone was still on and he could hear the victim moaning and saying "no." The victim told Fabian to stop four times, but he continued to have sexual intercourse with her, according to the arrest affidavit.After 15 minutes, Fabian resumed playing the video game with the other gamer. A Sexual Assault Victim Exam was done on the 15-year-old girl and the results supported the allegation of sexual abuse. Fabian was arrested and booked into the Land O' Lakes Detention Center. 1350

NORTON, Kan. – A Kansas nursing home has been hit hard by COVID-19.All 62 of the residents at the Andbe Home in Norton have tested positive for the novel coronavirus and 10 of the patients have died as a result of the disease, according to the Norton County Health Department.In a press release, the health department said Monday that one of the surviving residents has been hospitalized and the remaining 51 are being cared for at the privately-owned nursing home facility.Additionally, the department says some staff members have tested positive for the virus, though a specific number was not provided.

But preliminary data suggest that the nation is on track to see more than 3.2 million deaths this year, or at least 400,000 more than in 2019.The increase would be about 15%, and possibly more. Andrew Cuomo responded Thursday to the Supreme Court's Wednesday night ruling against the state's coronavirus restrictions on houses of worship in areas of New York City.The governor said the decision hasn't changed anything and called the court's action "irrelevant from any practical impact."However, leaders of the two groups who are plaintiffs in the case — the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and Agudath Israel, an advocacy group for the Orthodox Jewish community — disagreed, saying that the case about religious liberty and more sensible health measures.Cuomo, for his part, pointed out that the Catholic church and Orthodox Jewish synagogues in Brooklyn and Queens are no longer subject to them."I think this was really just an opportunity for the court to express its philosophy and politics," Cuomo said.The justices split 5-4 on the decision, with new conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett representing the decisive vote in the majority. It was Barrett's first publicly discernible vote as a justice.The court's three liberal justices and Chief Justice John Roberts dissented.In an unsigned order, a majority of the court said New York's restrictions "single out houses of worship for especially harsh treatment."Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of the Brooklyn Diocese said that the ruling is relevant far beyond the boundaries of the New York City region."There are places where, for example, I'm on the board of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C.," DiMarzio said.
