DENVER (AP) — A couple convicted of criminal charges in the so-called balloon boy hoax that fascinated the country more than a decade ago were pardoned Wednesday by the governor of Colorado.Dozens of rescue crews scrambled to save the 6-year-old boy after Richard and Mayumi Heene reported he had floated away in a homemade UFO-shaped silver helium balloon in 2009.According to the Associated Press, authorities said the couple staged the incident because they wanted publicity to pitch reality TV shows.But the child was never in the balloon. Polis said in a statement. “Richard and Mayumi have paid the price in the eyes of the public, served their sentences, and it’s time for all of us to move on. Details emerged about what happened to a Port St. Lucie, Florida woman and her boyfriend, both found murdered in their homes in February. A third body was also found in a car nearby, adding to the mystery.On Wednesday afternoon, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara announced a new development about what happened along Oleander Avenue. "I call this the Case of Cardiac Karma," said Sheriff Mascara.Confirming a theory long suspected by neighbors and family, detectives say 61-year old Melvin "Chip" Anderson stabbed 56-year old Gabriele Legg to death and then killed her boyfriend before suffering from a heart attack while fleeing the crime scene."Karma is terrible thing," said Mascara. All three bodies were found within a mile of each other around Oleander Avenue corridor. RELATED:?Man who found the first of three bodies in St. Lucie County describes shocking discoveryAt 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 28, deputies responded to a single car crash at the intersection of Oleander Avenue and Beach Avenue and found Anderson in distress. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.“We have previously released that Chip Anderson died as a result of natural causes,” said Mascara. “Toxicology results have returned and indicated no presence of drugs or alcohol and his final cause of death has been ruled a heart attack.”At 9:58 a.m. that morning, deputies then responded to 606 Ash Avenue and found Legg dead inside her garage and wrapped in a rug. “Her cause of death has been contributed to multiple stab wounds,” Mascara said.Legg was Anderson's aunt by marriage."She was the primary figure in Chip Anderson's life. Both on an emotional and financial standpoint," Sheriff Mascara said. "It is very clear that Chip relied on Gabriele very immensely."Deputies also confirmed that Anderson worked with Legg in her painting business.“We don’t believe there was any sort of romantic relationship between them, but it’s clear that Gabriele was very important to Chip," said Mascara.The sheriff said Anderson lived with Legg and stayed in the house with her body for days. It is believed she was killed around Feb. 19."We believe she was killed in a bedroom. He kept her in that bedroom for sometime, and then dragged her through the house. Because of his heart condition, he couldn't make it all the way to the garage," said Mascara.Days later, Anderson then killed Legg's boyfriend, Gary Boice, in his own home by shooting him to death with Boice's own gun."Boice and Legg were in a relationship and were in the process of moving in together in Boice's home," said Mascara.Anderson stole Boice's car after the shooting, but as he drove away he suffered a heart attack."There was evidence that in the days after he stabbed Gabrielle, he went to the pharmacy to get heart medicine," said Mascara. Detectives also confirmed a motive."He was so angry about his emotional support system and financial support system leaving him, moving in with Gary Boice -- really they were kicking him to the sidewalk and didn't want him to be a part of this new relationship," said Mascara.According to the Sheriff, detectives found a .45 caliber Glock handgun on Anderson’s body and ballistics analysis has matched this gun to the casings found at Boice’s home.This case is now closed. 3310

She's owned horses as long as she can remember, and loves them with all her heart.Friday night, a jazz-infused, Hor d'oeuvres laden party at L'Auberge, the honorees transported attendees to smoke and flame-filled, frantic memories."His pen was on fire because he was in sawdust, literally drug him out of the pen," Marrs said, adding that on that day she lept inside and dragged the horse out, leading him and others along the way to the infield with another worker. They were almost to the end of the tunnel when, "next thing we're facing is a 50-head herd of horses, coming straight at us. So all we could do is basically plaster ourselves against the wall and close our eyes and pray we didn't get hit because if we got hit, we would've been knocked down and trampled to death."She made it unscathed and headed back for her barn where she knew another horse was waiting. When she returned, she faced devastation."I'm still looking for a hose to try and put him out, like I can save him. I tried to get in my barn, but it was so hot, I was stepping over flames," she said. Marrs knew he was already dead. She described it as a horrible, guilt-filled moment. For months, she the memoriy stayed with her.Friday night, that memory was brought into the light, by the horse community. They honored hers and so many others' stories of sacrifice.Noting Martine Bellocq in particular. Delta Air Lines will not be opening up their middle seats on its planes anytime soon.On Thursday, the airline company updated its coronavirus safety policy and announced they would be closing off the middle seats through Jan. 6, which is considered a busy period for them because of the holiday season.For travel through Oct. 31, Delta said it would limit the number of customers on board all aircraft, limit the First Class cabin to half capacity, and block one aisle of seats on a plane without middle seats.USA Today reported that the company would cap capacity at 75% percent in the main cabin through Oct. 31.
