(KGTV) - The sound of gunfire was met with fear and disbelief by students at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita Thursday. Two students died and three others were injured on campus, officials said. In the hours following the shooting on campus, the teenage survivors shared their emotional stories. “It was very scary; we ran, we heard the one shot and four after and we just started running,” said a female student. “All I heard was all these kids running and just screaming and calling their parents; it was very sad.” RELATED: Santa Clarita high school shooting: 2 killed, 3 hurt; Suspected shooter in 'grave' condition “It was like a balloon pop, super loud, and everyone started running and it was really scary,” said a boy who had been outside the school when the shooting happened. His concern was for his sister, who had arrived on campus early for choir rehearsal. She texted him that she was safe, but the shooting had happened close to her. "I'm just not gonna forget it," said a girl as her mother clutched her outside the school.Other students shared the experience of running away from campus. “So we were waiting outside of the locker room cause it wasn’t open yet, and all of a sudden we just we were with all of our friends and we heard the gunshots and we were, ‘Let’s go, let’s run.' We ran through the field, we went through the gate cause it was open and we had to go underneath the pipeline so we literally crawled underneath the pipeline. And there were construction workers and they like, helped us get through the hill and into the neighborhood, and we just kept walking until we got to the park.” Some of the children sought refuge in the first moments of the crisis with a man who lives near the school. “Coming out of my house to go get my coffee and I saw all kind of kids running up the street, screaming, crying, yelling. And it really saddened my heart, you know. And they were saying, ‘can we go in your house’ and there must have been 20 of them in my house. We just all kept running, and we were all helping each other, like ‘oh, do you have a ride, do you have a ride’ because it was just like a big group of us running through this neighborhood, trying to get away. Everybody helped each other; I was actually really surprised because I thought people would just panic and push people out of the way but everybody was helping each other. (KGTV) — State wildlife officials are warning people not to feed deer in Northern California to help control the outbreak of a fatal disease in the animals.Department of Fish and Wildlife officials say they have confirmed outbreaks of "adenovirus hemorrhagic disease" in deer across several Northern California counties, including Napa, Santa Clara, Sonoma, Tehama and Yolo counties. The disease is typically fatal to deer and can be spread by animals in close contact with each other. The virus is not known to affect humans, pets, or domestic livestock.Adenovirus hemorrhagic disease, or CdAdV-1, isn't new. In 1993-1994, an outbreak of the virus was reported in black-tailed deer and mule deer in 18 counties. Since that outbreak, the virus has been identified as the cause of sporadic and widespread hemorrhagic disease in deer in California and other western states.The disease causes excessive salivation (drooling or foaming at the mouth), diarrhea, regurgitation, or seizures in infected deer, however, those animals infected are often found dead with obvious symptoms, sometimes near water.Deer fawns are at the greatest risk of the disease, according to CDFW.Officials say feeding deer can cause the animal to gather and spread the virus to each other."Providing attractants for deer – food, salt licks or even water – is against the law for good reason," said Brandon Munk, senior wildlife veterinarian with CDFW’s Wildlife Investigations Laboratory. "Because these artificial attractants can congregate animals and promote the spread of disease, it’s particularly imperative to leave wildlife alone during an outbreak. There is no cure or vaccine for this disease, so our best management strategies right now are to track it carefully, and to take preventative measures to limit the spread."People can help officials track and study the disease by reporting sightings of sick or dead deer. 1909

(KGTV) - The stepson of a woman whose family dug her body out of a backyard grave in Tijuana may be in the United States, Mexican authorities said Tuesday. The Deputy Attorney General of Justice in Tijuana is searching for Aaron Seth Juarez, 20, on suspicion of killing Fernanda González Serrano in February. González was last heard from Feb. 2. Her sister Erika became concerned and reported her missing when Gonzalez failed to return phone calls for weeks."Right away, I feel that something is wrong," said Erika.González had shared concerns about her stepson, saying he was using drugs and had guns, Erika said.Shortly after González' disappearance, her husband was treated for a gunshot wound in San Diego. He was reportedly unable to answer any questions.Erika created social media posts requesting help to find her sister. Eventually, she received a horrifying phone call.
