Pizza Hut will replace Papa John's as the official pizza of the NFL.The announcement comes a day after Papa John's said it would end its sponsorship of the league. Papa John's, which last fall blamed the NFL's response to player protests for slumping sales, will focus on its partnerships with individual teams.The league's deal with Pizza Hut is for four years, and is worth more than the Papa John's deal, a source familiar with the agreement told CNN. PITTSBURGH - A US Postal Service employee is on leave after bags of undelivered mail were found on the side of the street for trash pick-up outside a home near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to multiple reports.Several bags were reported to the US Postal Service Office of Inspector General Sunday and they are investigating.An agent with the USPS OIG says the bags contained a variety of mail.“USPS OIG Special Agents recovered several different classes of mail, including business mail, flats, and small amount of first class mail. We expect to perform a piece count of the mail today, and make arrangements to have the mail delivered to customers as soon as feasible,” Special Agent Scott Balfour said in a statement released Tuesday.“Once USPS OIG special agents conclude their investigation, the case will be presented for federal prosecution to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.”A post office employee is on leave without pay in connection with this investigation.This is the second time in just the last week a mail person is under investigation for allegedly not delivering mail.According to WPXI, the other incident was caught on surveillance camera, showing a postal carrier dumping mail inside a garbage can. Agents say a ballot application and political advertisements were found.Balfour noted that the Postal Service has 630,000 employees and the majority are "hard-working, trustworthy individuals" who work around the clock to deliver the country’s mail. OXNARD, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities say a 10-year-old student has been shot by a stray bullet in a drive-by shooting outside a Southern California elementary school. Oxnard police say Friday the child was struck during a car-to-car shooting outside McAuliffe Elementary School in the coastal city. The student is expected to survive and no one else was injured. McAuliffe enrolls about 700 students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Oxnard is a city of 200,000 people about 55 miles northwest of Los Angeles. 521

Police in Osceola County, Florida said a man was locked up after he was accused of trying to kill sex offenders.Officers said he tried to set the men on fire.Jorge Porto-Sierra has been formally charged with four counts of attempted premeditated murder.Osceola County detectives said the 50-year-old confessed to deputies he tried to kill multiple people at the Friendly Village Inn on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.After his March 7 arrest, Porto-Sierra said he arrived at the motel to "barbecue all the child molesters on fire and kill them."WESH 2 News in Orlando confirmed at least two of the four victims are convicted sexual offenders.Witnesses told deputies Porto-Sierra made several threats, screaming, "I'm going to kill you, child molester," and allegedly began throwing gasoline on their front door.Porto-Sierra is accused of breaking a hotel window to pour gasoline inside.Witnesses said he was carrying a cigarette the whole time.Another couple said Porto-Sierra rammed their car and poured gas on it.When asked by deputies why he did not carry out his threats, Porto-Sierra said, "You got here too soon."Porto-Sierra remains behind bars at the Osceola County Jail.He's being held on no bond.  1219

Parents worried about a lack of social-emotional growth in their young children during social distancing and child care closures, consider playing with the family dog or taking the whole family on the dog's walk.A study published this week in Pediatric Research points to improvements in toddlers’ behavior interacting with others when they have some amount of time spent with the family dog.Information from more than 1,600 parents were included in the study, which asked how old their children were, if they had a dog, how often the child went on the family dog walks or actively played with the dog, as well as other questions. In addition, parents filled out a Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire about their child’s development and behavior.Overall, researchers found that preschool aged children from dog-owning homes had reduced likelihood of conduct problems and increased likelihood of prosocial behavior compared to children without a dog. Positive results were seen with family dog walking at least once a week and active play between the family and dog at least three times or more a week.The study’s authors report part of their motivation for the study was the decreasing physical activity levels of young children. They reference studies on increased activity among adult dog owners, and wanted to look at whether there were increased levels in children with dogs in the home.Participants live in Australia, and gave their survey results between 2015 to 2018 as part of a larger early childhood education and care research project.The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire is a commonly used, 25-item document that measures the social and emotional well-being of children.If a family dog is not possible at this time, maybe consider offering to walk a neighbor’s pet; physical activity, interacting with an animal and the benefit of doing something nice for a neighbor. 1900
