SAN DIEGO, CA (KGTV) The two-year-old twin girls who were in a truck that sped off of Sunset Cliffs Saturday are recovering.That’s according to a family friend who started a GoFundMe campaign to help the twins’ mother with any expenses related to the crash.“She’s a great mother, she’s sticking strong through all of this, the girls are doing good,” said family friend Adrianna Lopez. “Money should be the last thing she needs to worry about, it’s just about keeping herself sane through all of this, her kids their health, mental, physical, everything.”Lopez and a family member tell 10News the girls are now stable. She said the twins just turned two years old in May.On Saturday, the toddlers were riding in a truck that San Diego Police say was driven by their father.Officers were warned to be on the lookout for a suicidal man threatening to drive off of the Coronado Bridge.Cellphone GPS data located the father, now identified as 47-year-old Robert Brians, at Sunset Cliffs.SDPD K9 Officer Jonathan Wiese was close by and jumped into action after the truck went over the cliffside.He and other first responders were able to save the twins and Brians.“The action that the first responders did, we’re just forever grateful, forever grateful,” said Lopez.Brians was arrested for two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of burglary, and two counts of child cruelty.The San Diego District Attorney’s office said is has until Wednesday to make a filing decision. The exchange came just days after Manchester returned from a humanitarian trip to the Bahamas to provide post Hurricane Dorian aid. President Trump nominated Manchester to the ambassadorship in 2017. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A U.S. judge in San Francisco has refused to immediately allow the Trump administration to enforce a ban on asylum for any immigrants who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border.Judge Jon Tigar on Friday rejected the Justice Department's request to suspend his earlier order temporarily blocking the ban. Tigar said the administration had still not shown that the ban was legal.At issue is President Donald Trump's Nov. 9 proclamation that barred anyone who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border between official ports of entry from seeking asylum. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Pacific Gas & Electric, which is blamed for some of California's deadliest recent fires, knew for years that dozens of its aging power lines posed a wildfire threat but avoided replacing or repairing them, it was reported Wednesday.The Wall Street Journal, using company documents obtained under the federal Freedom of Information Act, reported that the utility told the U.S. Forest Service in 2017 and 2018 that 49 aging steel towers on one transmission line needed replacement and another 57 needed replacement of their hardware and aluminum lines.The Journal previously reported that PG&E delayed safety work on the line, known as the Caribou-Palermo line, for five years.State investigators said an equipment failure on that line sparked a November wildfire that essentially wiped out the Northern California town of Paradise and killed 85 people. Neighbors were mixed on whether it will affect crime.Police and neighbors celebrated the new curfew Friday at City Heights Square Mini Park. Police said since January 2019 there's been 217 crimes reported within 1,500 feet of the park, ranging from assault to theft.READ RELATED: Neighbors celebrate nightly curfew at San Diego parksRonald Tieken said he spearheaded the initiative, putting together a survey that he said 50 seniors in the building bordering the park responded to.
