She shared photos with CNN of police with weapons drawn.When she arrived on the scene, she said she heard multiple loud gunshots. She said the gunshots seemed like rapid fire.SWAT officers eventually entered the townhome through an upstairs window, and officers found Holroyd's body clad in body armor. The inside of the home had been saturated with gasoline, authorities said.Authorities found several hundred rounds of ammunition, several high-powered rifles and flares, the sheriff's office said. A suspicious package targeting billionaire investor and philanthropist George Soros was rendered safe in Bedford, New York on Monday, a law enforcement source told CNN.The Bedford Police say they received a call reporting a suspicious package found in a mailbox. The package appeared to be an explosive device, police said.An employee had opened the parcel. The employee placed the package in a wooded area and called the Bedford Police, according to a news release.The package did not detonate on its own, the law enforcement source said. 547

A Nashville doggie day care has filed a lawsuit for million against people who they said have destroyed their reputation. They said online posts in a popular neighborhood Facebook page just weren't true.The Dog Spot in East Nashville filed the lawsuit for libel, fraud and other charges against Jamie Bayer and Bari Rachel Miley Hardin for comments they made on the East Nashville Facebook page starting last month.According to the lawsuit, Bayer posted in part: "...how many dogs have died at The Dog Spot?"  Adding, "I found out two dogs died there. Since then I've heard up to four, and recently even seven."The lawsuit says, among other things, Hardin posted "Lots of dogs have been killed there" and "people can't talk when they've been paid off."The lawsuit from The Dog spot says "These are false statements.""It's not acceptable, its not freedom of speech. you cannot yell fire in a movie theater," said Chad Baker, one of the owners of The Dog Spot. "Just because it's Facebook, doesn't mean you can go on, and say things that are not true, and what's being said about us is not true."There has been at least one dog death at the day care. Rachael Waldrop's Chihuahua "Hall" died after an incident with a larger dog last year. A Russian woman who needed surgery to address ovarian cysts was given Fedyaeva formalin, a solution that contains formaldehyde, which is used to preserve bodies, Russian state media organization RT reported.Ekaterina Fedyaeva, 28, was told by doctors the procedure would be routine. Little did she know it know that the laparoscopic procedure to remove the cysts would kill her. Fedyaeva was supposed to be given saline solution, but instead was given the formaldehyde-type solution. Fedyaeva then complained to her mother, saying that she was "dying."It turns out she was right. Doctors tried to wash her abdominal cavity of the formaldehyde.Her organs began failing. In response, doctors tried to keep her alive, but she died last Thursday. Russia's minister of health, family and social well-being Rashid Abdullov said, "I express my sincere condolences to the relatives and relatives of Catherine Fedjaevoj. It's a big tragedy! We will provide all the necessary assistance to the family. A Northern California family was forced to evacuate their home over the weekend, as the Carr wildfire continues to spread. Not only was the family tasked with getting themselves out, they also had to evacuate the animals on their rescue farm.Lisa Ellsworth runs Tiny Tim’s Pals, a pet rescue farm in El Dorado Hills, California.“It’s our family, yeah,” says Ellsworth. "We take ‘em in from—sometimes they’ve been abandoned; a lot have been abused, neglected.”This weekend, those animals needed to be rescued from their sanctuary, as the fire in Northern California moved frighteningly close to their farm.“All the sudden, our neighbors come drivin’ up and they’re like, ‘Get out! We’re being evacuated,’” recalls Ellsworth. “The police are coming around, so that’s the notice.”Because of the time constraints to get out, they had to abandon two pigs and two feral dogs that couldn’t be corralled into trailers in time. The animals the family could take, they brought to the Rolling Hills Equestrian Center.Terry Skevington, with the center, says it’s one of the few places that allows owners to bring animals of all shapes and sizes. The animals can even sleep on site with them.“I had an old couple park here and stay with their cats, because the hotels wouldn’t let them stay with their cats,” says Skevington. “To some of ‘em, that’s all they got left.”He says the outpouring of donations of items--like fans for the animal stalls, halters and even feed--has been overwhelming.As for Ellsworth, she doesn’t know the status of her home or the animals she left behind, but she says she’s been able to keep it off her mind by staying busy. Fortunately, Ellsworth has insurance. She says in the worst-case scenario, she’d use the money as an opportunity to build a new barn for her animals.Representatives for the Humane Society that serves the region say, overall, they’ve seen about 1,000 animals displaced since the Carr fire broke out.
