The National Institutes of Health is reportedly planning to conduct a clinical study to determine why people are having severe allergic reactions to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.According to the Washington Post, during a press briefing on Monday, Moncef Slaoui, the chief science adviser for Operation Warp Speed, said they are seeking volunteers who've had allergic reactions to the vaccine, so doctors can identify why a rare event known as anaphylaxis is happening.The NIH also plans to study the Moderna vaccine as well, Bloomberg reported.Last week, health authorities in the U.K. said they were investigating after two people had "adverse reactions" to the Pfizer vaccine on the first day of the country's mass vaccination program.In the U.S., two healthcare workers in Alaska reported having an allergic reaction, and on Friday, the FDA announced five people also had an "adverse reaction" to the vaccine. 917

The mother of a Florida child who was punched in the face by an adult is wondering why the man was not arrested. “He was screaming at us, cursing at us, calling us the 'n-word' and he came down to the middle of his yard, and I was like 'who are you talking too,' and he said 'come within arm's reach and I'll show you who I'm talking to,'" said Malikai Villatte, the 12-year-old boy who was punched.  A picture of Malikai after the incident showed his two front teeth were knocked out. The young boy also received stitches to heal a gash on his mouth. “When I realized my teeth were dangling in my mouth it was kind of shocking, I didn't know what was going on," Malikai said. “It was like a nightmare, I just knew I had to get there and I had to get there fast," said Malikai's mother Brittany Graham. His parents are upset because the man who punched Malikai was not arrested. Lataevion Graham, 13, says he witnessed the incident and claims Cerfalo spat on them after punching Malikai. Graham's father says he wants justice for the children. “Where it is okay for an adult to take the law into their own hands, and to strike a kid hard enough to knock out his teeth. Where is that acceptable, in what country is that acceptable?" said Larry Graham. According to a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the man who punched Malikai was 27-year-old Vincent Cerfalo.“Originally this is where the altercation took place, right here," Cerfalo said.“I told them to back off and if they come on my property I'm going to defend myself. They said, 'you won't hit us, you won't hit us,' and they started to surround me," said Cerfalo. He says it all started when he yelled at the kids to get out of the road because they were blocking traffic.A cellphone video captured the moments after Malikai was punched. Cerfalo claims he was acting in self defense.“He touched me and I lifted my hand out, and I ended up hitting him. It was not my intention to hit anybody that hard, it was not my intention to knock teeth out or do harm, or cause any kind of trouble,” Cerfalo said.The children say no one touched Cerfalo at any time during the incident. Cerfalo says he never expected things to escalate to violence. The Louisville Metro police department has fired one of the police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor. A termination letter for Officer Brett Hankison released by the city’s police department today said Hankinson violated procedures by showing “extreme indifference to the value of human life." The letter also said Hankinson violated the rule against using deadly force. Taylor, who was Black, was shot eight times by officers who burst into her Louisville home using a no-knock warrant during a March 13 narcotics investigation. Two other officers remain on administrative reassignment while the shooting is investigated.Taylor, who was employed as an EMT, was inside of her home when police conducted a “no-knock raid” on her home. Thinking the police officers were intruders, Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, allegedly shot at police.Louisville Metro Police officers returned fire, striking and killing Taylor.Walker was originally arrested for firing at police, but later was released. 1024

"And that went on at 1:30 in the morning."Williams quickly got a confirmation from Kohl's that a PS5 was on the way, only to have his hopes dashed hours later."We were happy, excited, celebrating. The old expression “just like riding a bike” doesn’t apply to everyone.After 12 years of driving his car, Gavin Burgo is getting back on a bicycle and he’s having a tough time picking up where he last left off.“Driving downtown is fairly dangerous,” he said. “Especially with Segways ruling the roads for a while."Helping Burgo relearn the rules of the road are neighborhood navigators from Bicycle Colorado, a nonprofit organization supporting the interests of bicycle riders worldwide.“We know that COVID has definitely impacted how people are getting around,” said James Waddell, mobility program director with Bicycle Colorado. Waddell’s team recently received a grant from the Federal Highway Administration, which is being used to help teach people how to ride bikes safely in downtown areas.“We’ll take you on a 10-minute city spin loop, teach you a few urban bike dance moves and get your bike confidence up,” he said.An increase in confidence as more people are now riding bikes and driving less across America.New numbers from the American Automobile Association show many major metropolitan areas saw traffic drop nearly 60% during the early parts of the pandemic.While many commuters are now shifting gears, with AAA shows traffic has rebounded to nearly 90% of pre-COVID numbers.
