EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Dozens of dogs and cats landed in El Cajon today, after a flight from Louisiana to Gillespie Field. In July, rescue partners at Acadiana Animal Aid in Lafayette, LA helped rescue animals following floods in the area. This month, they've teamed up with the Wings of Rescue to help overcrowded shelters.  The 75 to 90 animals, mostly puppies will go to The Rescued Dog, Labradors and Friends Rescue, San Diego Humane Society, and the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. For more information on when the puppies will be up for adoption, head the Wings of Rescue Facebook page.? 634

During an appearance on ABC News Friday morning, Health and Human Services Director Alex Azar said that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would grant Emergency Use Authorization to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.Azar added that while the process for Emergency Use Authorization has not been finalized, he expects Americans to receive initial doses of the vaccine by "Monday or Tuesday of next week."Azar's comments come a day after an FDA panel voted to recommend that the Pfizer vaccine be given Emergency Use Authorization. That is still illegal he says.“Our message is just to put the phones away, just turn them off.
