The man arrested for allegedly pushing or throwing a child from the third floor of the Mall of America in Minnesota had been banned from the mall in the past and once told police he had anger issues, court records show.Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, 24, was charged with attempted homicide after witnesses said a man either pushed or threw the 5 -year-old child on Friday morning from the Bloomington mall's third interior level to its first, police said.Aranda, who police said took off running after the incident, was found inside the mall's transit station and arrested.Authorities described the child's injuries as life-threatening and said witnesses gave the child first aid."The child did suffer significant injuries," Police Chief Jeff Potts said. In an unusual arrangement, Meredith will continue to publish the Sports Illustrated magazine and website.The structure of the deal suggests that the Sports Illustrated brand is much more valuable than the storied magazine.Authentic Brands Group, which owns the brands of celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, will assume the marketing, business development and licensing of Sports Illustrated's intellectual property.Jamie Salter, CEO of Authentic Brands Group, said in a statement that Sports Illustrated's "trusted name and fiercely devoted following set the stage for the brand to become a leader in lifestyle and entertainment."According to the companies, potential new business opportunities include events, conferences, gambling and gaming products as well as video and television.Meredith, which is paying Authentic Brands Group an undisclosed fee to publish the Sports Illustrated magazine and website, said it would maintain the publication's editorial independence.Sports Illustrated was put up for sale last year along with Time, Fortune and Money magazines, which Meredith acquired via its purchase of Time Inc. The Federal Aviation Administration is barring U.S. pilots and carriers from flying in areas of Iraqi, Iranian and some Persian Gulf airspace. The agency is warning of the “potential for miscalculation or mis-identification" for civilian aircraft amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran. The emergency flight restrictions follow ballistic missile strikes Tuesday on two Iraqi bases that house U.S. troops.
