A San Diego Police flyer indicated he was prepared to meet friends and never arrived.Billingsly earned a degree in business administration and marketing from SDSU. He traveled to his native Sacramento and earned money for his return to San Diego, his mother Christel told 10News.Christel Billingsley said her son was looking for a job and wanted to save on rent. After June 1, he did not have a permanent address and started couch-surfing at friends’ homes in Pacific Beach.Wesley and his Ford Expedition disappeared June 12. “It’s completely out of character,” said his mother.Christel paid her son’s phone bill and described him as a social media junkie. About two months ago, the phone stopped showing activity.“Everything stopped on June 12. He just vanished off the face of this earth,” Christel said.Christel is employed as a school officer manager in Sacramento and recently returned to her job after summer break. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The fight over the future of short-term vacation rentals in San Diego is now targeting paid signature gatherers hired by the largely Airbnb-funded campaign.The campaign, called "Stand for Jobs, Stop the Vacation Rental Ban," needs to raise about 35,000 signatures to overturn the City Council's recent vote to limit short-term vacation rentals essentially to primary residences. A group of residents called the San Diego Community Working Group on Short-Term Vacation Rentals is now drafting a letter to multiple city officials alleging that the signature gatherers are misleading voters with false information about the regulations. RELATED: Airbnb: San Diego teachers made .7M renting out their home last year"You won't be able to do bed and breakfast, and then there's a huge emphasis on the amount of money on the fee. There is no fee for home sharing," said Gary Wonacott, a member of the group, giving examples of what he's heard.There are now upwards of 200 signature gatherers around San Diego. On Friday, there were five of them spread across the Target shopping center on Sports Arena Boulevard.LaKeisha Weaver says she is being paid more than for every signature she gets. "It's just like a traveling position."Weaver says she tries to engage voters with a very brief verbal pitch and has official literature for them to read. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The North County Transit District announced plans last week to expand the COASTER rail line to the downtown convention center.The San Diego Pathing Study outlined the plan to bring COASTER service to the convention center. The long-term endeavor would extend service from the Santa Fe Depot to the Convention Center. The plan includes an eventual station at the Convention Center.The study is mapped out in near-, mid-, and long-term projects. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Food and Drug Administration has recalled several types of tattoo ink after determining they were contaminated with bacteria. One of them is the popular black ink made by Dynamic Color. The FDA found that two of their lots tested positive for microorganisms. The recall includes all bottles of Scalpaink SC, Scalpaink PA, and Scalpaink AL basic black tattoo inks manufactured by Scalp Aesthetics. One lot of Color Art’s red Solid Ink-Diablo was also included. Tattoo shops across the country were contacted through their local health departments about the recall. One of the largest tattoo parlors in San Diego, SD Tattoo, says they got the email Wednesday morning and immediately searched through their inks.They did have the Dynamic black ink, but tattoo artist Nicki Ninteman said, "We checked all the lot numbers and all of ours are clean, so we’re good."She said they didn't have either of the other two brands in the shop.According to the FDA, people who have been tattooed with contaminated ink can experience rashes or lesions of red papules. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The first drivable, life-size LEGO Technic car will be on display through the holidays at Legoland California.The model featuring the Bugatti Chiron weighs one and a half tons and is a 1:1 replica of the world's fastest supercar. It took Lego builders more than 13,000 hours and more than 1 million Lego Technic pieces to recreate and assemble the car's sleek design and lines.While the actual Chiron can reach a record-setting top speed of 304 mph, this version can travel up to about 18 mph, according to the park.
