(AP) — Grammy-winning country group Lady Antebellum is changing its name to Lady A, with members saying they are regretful for not taking into consideration the word's associations with slavery. The band made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood, made the announcement Thursday on their social media. "After much personal reflection, band discussion, prayer and many honest conversations with some of our closest black friends and colleagues, we have decided to drop the word 'Antebellum' from our name and move forward as Lady A, the nickname our fans gave us almost from the start."The statement says that they chose the name after the antebellum-style home where they shot their first band photos, and it reminded them of Southern styles of music. MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Over the past year, there has been an increase in drivers illegally passing school buses in Kenosha County, Wisconsin.In 2017, the Kenosha County Sheriffs Office issues 57 "failure to stop for school bus" violations. This year, the number of citations is up 70.Steve Bennett has been a bus driver at First Student Inc. in Kenosha for 11 years. It's a school bus company that services 39 schools in that county. He said when he sees a car passing the stop arm, it’s upsetting. “It’s a mix between anger and I’m terrified. What’s going to happen with my kids?” Bennet said.According to a one-day study done by the Wisconsin School Bus Association, out of 1,538 participating drivers, 363 cars were observed passing the stop arms.In Waukesha County, 242 violations were reported in 2017. Michael Comstock, manager of First Student, said his drivers report violations daily. Once a violation is observed, license plate numbers and the description of the vehicle are then handed off to authorities. “It’s a life and death decision every time they decide to drive through the red lights on a school,” said Bennett.Elizabeth Ramirez is a mother of a 4-year-old and said it’s gut-wrenching to see drivers pass through school bus stop arms. “You have to pay attention because that’s why so many things are happening nowadays. NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A woman's body was found last week in her apartment, where she lived with her four adult children. One of her children told police she may have died two years ago.Metro Nashville Police officials found Laronda Jolly's body in her bed with clothes piled on top of her, and officials say the body was in a significant state of decomposition.The body was discovered by the Davidson County Sheriff's Office when deputies were serving an eviction notice.Jolly lived in the apartment with her four children, all of whom are reportedly intellectually disabled. One of them said Jolly may have been in that position since 2018, according to police officials. The four of them have reportedly been living there since she died.A cause of death has not been determined. Her remains were sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
