SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was arrested after deputies say he intentionally drove onto a sidewalk outside an Encinitas bar, seriously injuring several people. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on the 500 block of South Coast Highway 101 around 1:20 a.m. Deputies say the man, later identified as Christian Davis, 28, was asked to leave The Saloon Bar because he was too intoxicated. RELATED: Man dies following attack in Vista; suspects at-largeAfter leaving the bar, deputies say Davis got into his rental U-Haul van and intentionally drove it onto the sidewalk, hitting three people. One of the victims was taken to Palomar Medical Center while two others were taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital all with serious injuries. Davis was detained by witnesses at the bar before being taken into custody by deputies. Two of the witnesses were injured while detaining Davis and were taken to Scripps Encinitas hospital with minor injuries. The suspect is facing four felony charges including three of attempted first-degree murder and one of attempted escape with force. Davis is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local truck owner is making an emotional plea for the return of one of his late father's prized possessions.The empty space that greeted Brad Mouw in front of his San Carlos home on Ballinger Avenue hit him with a flood of emotions Thursday morning."Hurt, violated, and angry," said Mouw.His 2008 Dodge Dakota pickup was gone.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhood"My heart was broken. That truck belonged to my dad. He loved his truck. He drove it to work every day," said Mouw, choking back tears.Mouw says the truck is something his dad Marvin held close to his heart, even as he battled dementia.   Marvin Mouw passed away in 2016 in Iowa. His beloved truck was eventually driven to San Diego."I got to see my dad every day.  Pretty much think about my father every day I get into my truck," said Mouw.On Thursday, those precious moments disappeared before his eyes, as he watched his surveillance video. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego boxer who missed out on the 2016 Olympic games has her eyes set on 2020.Danyelle Wolf missed out on the 2016 Olympic games because her weight class wasn't included. The omission forced her to seek out a new challenge: MMA.For the next three years, Wolf trained for her MMA debut. That day would never come either."I dislocated my shoulder, so I totally dislocated my arm, tore my labrum," Wolf said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A group of activists are upset after the San Diego Police Department rescheduled a Black History Month celebration for the department's current and former black police officers.The department's celebration was scheduled to take place Saturday, February 24th, but was canceled just days before. The group says a committee of officers was appointed to plan the event in January. They think the cancellation was politically motivated. Monica Montgomery spoke during a brief press conference on Monday at the Civic Center Plaza. She thinks the decision to reschedule the event was made after the keynote speaker was announced. The speaker was supposed to be Geneviéve Jones-Wright, the candidate for San Diego district attorney. She's running against interim D.A., Summer Stephan. The police department told 10News the event was rescheduled due to planning conflicts. Lt. Scott Wahl said they plan on notifying officers when a new date is set. The D.A. sent 10News the following statement: "District Attorney Summer was not involved in the planning or the rescheduling of this event." 1143

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man whose car erupted into flames after crashing on the southbound I-805 Thursday morning is recovering after two passersby helped pull him to safety. Dashcam video from a nearby driver shows the moment the small white car suddenly veers to the right, slamming into a pick-up truck at Telegraph Canyon Road. Almost instantly smoke begins to rise from the hood, and then flames."When I saw the smoke we just ran over and saw we had to get him out. We unbuckled him out of the car, carried him out," said Tyrone Crawford. Crawford, a retired Customs and Border Protection officer and the friend he was with, a U.S. Marine, said they didn't hesitate to put their training into action. The two men were able to get the victim safely to the side of the highway, where first responders jumped in to start treating him. The man was alert and talking as he was wheeled into an ambulance.The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash, but all lanes of the SB I-805 were reopened by early afternoon. 1037
