HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KGTV) -- Los Angeles Police Thursday released body-camera videos that show what happened leading up to the moment police shot and killed a machete-wielding man, KABC reports. The incident happened on November 26, 2019 on a street in Hollywood. The event began to unfold when the suspect, Nathaniel Pinnock, reportedly robbed a store near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Pinnock allegedly used a knife in the robbery. The body-cam video shows the 22-year-old stealing a vehicle at a fast-food restaurant before crashing it into several police cruisers. Garrett Rolfe, the now fired Atlanta Police officer who shot Rayshard Brooks twice late Friday night, has turned himself into the Fulton County (Georgia) Jail on Thursday.Bond has not been set for Rolfe as of Thursday afternoon.Rolfe has been indicted on 11 charges, including murder. Investigators said Rolfe fired two shots at Brooks, resulting in the Brooks’ death.Officer Devin Brosnan has been charged with aggravated assault and several violations of his oath of office. Brosnan was placed on administrative leave late Saturday.As of late Thursday afternoon, Brosnan was no longer in custody after he was released on bond.Brooks died on Friday night after Rolfe shot him in the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant.The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said that officers responded to a call of a man who fell asleep behind the wheel in a drive thru. The police accused Brooks of failing a field sobriety test, which prompted the officers to attempt to arrest Brooks.Video of the incident showed that Brooks then struggled with officers over a Taser. Heather Hyland, a self-proclaimed bug nerd, has found a love for mosquitos despite the diseases they carry.“I have loved bugs I would say since I was about 2 years old,” Hyland said.Initially a public information officer for the Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District in Southern California, she said her bug fascination was because so many people don't like them. So, as a child, Hyland thought, someone should love them. That love turned into entomology.“They’re so interesting. They’re these intricate little tiny bugs with the capability to do big things. If you look at how prehistoric a mosquito is, it has six mouth parts. There’s so many different things they can do that are big,” Hyland said.Mosquitos can transmit disease, sense heat, even smell carbon dioxide coming out of human bodies. In Orange County, vector control employees normally see an average of 24 mosquitos in a trap. Now, they're seeing 118."We do look at the region - Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego - have already had positive West Nile mosquitos in their traps,” she said. “Our district lines are invisible. Health officials in Rockland, New York, say that a group who attended a recent party sparking a localized outbreak of coronavirus cases are not cooperating with officials.Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel told reporters on Wednesday that a subpoena will be issued in order to force the party attendees to comply with the county’s contact tracing efforts. Dr. Schnabel said that eight subpoenas in total will be issued.Health officials hope to be able to find out who those party attendees have been in contact with amid efforts to minimize the spread of the virus.Dr. Schnabel said that the host, who was symptomatic at the time of the party, infected seven others with the virus. All eight are in their 20s, she said.Dr. Schnabel said that health investigators have been hung up on by infected revelers, or allegedly been lied to.“They deny being at the party even though we have found their name from another party attendee, or a parent provides us with the information” she said. “Many do not answer their cellphones or call back.
