SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two men are dead after a shooting near a Mountain View park Sunday afternoon. Two black men, ages 33 and 37, were shot in the upper body, San Diego Police said. Both men died at the hospital.The shooting happened around 1:20 p.m. Sunday near South 40th Street and Ocean View Boulevard. Police said the victims were standing near the Mountain View Community Center when they were shot.The suspect is described as a black man wearing dark clothing.South 40th Street was closed between Teak Street and Hemlock Street while police investigated the crime.The circumstances leading up to the shooting are not known.Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 776

It was a momentary break from the last two-and-a-half months when she's been worried about many things, least of all herself.On August 15, Caceres gave birth to her son Santino at 29 weeks. He's been in the NICU at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital ever since."Very traumatizing, honestly," Caceres said over the hum of hair dryers at Robert Cromeans Salon downtown. "I don't take time for myself really," she said. "It's really cool they did this, honestly."Caceres was one of eight NICU moms treated to a hair and makeup makeover at the salon Monday during an event organized by March of Dimes.The event came on the same day the March of Dimes released a report card showing the premature birth rate in the U.S. rose for the fourth straight year to 10.02 percent.Preterm birth rates worsened in 30 states. California fared better than the national average. In San Diego County, the rate actually improved year-over-year to 8.4 percent.It's still largely a mystery why some women deliver early. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — With San Diego Comic-Con fans missing the convention in-person this year, some have instead left a tribute across the street from the convention center.Fans of the pop culture event recently began leaving flowers, t-shirts, and notes of their memories from past Comic-Cons outside TinFish — a popular site for people watching and off-site SDCC experiences every year.Chris Morrow, one of the organizers of the shrine, says the tribute was organized as a way for fans to continue connecting over their shared love of the convention.RELATED: San Diego Comic-Con 2020: What to know about SDCC@Home"Residents from San Diego County got together to show love and respect to Comic-Con. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Traffic was backed up throughout the day Monday in Clairemont after a crash involving several vehicles. The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Balboa Avenue near Albertine Avenue. According to San Diego Police, a 59-year-old man driving west on Balboa Avenue hit a raised median and crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic. Police say he then hit a Jeep Patriot, causing it to slam into a Honda Civic and a Jeep Cherokee. Police say the driver of the Jeep Patriot sustained a fractured femur and was taken to the hospital. Her passenger also complained of pain. No one else was injured. The 59-year-old driver of the Nissan Frontier was arrested for DUI drugs. 695
