(KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies are investigating a possible threat made against West Hills High School late Monday.In a letter to parents, West Hills Principal Robin Ballarin said staff was made aware of the threat Monday concerning a student remark that referenced a possible act of violence.The 15-year-old student has been identified, school officials say.No weapon or written threats were found in connection with the student, deputies said.The remark was reportedly made during class at 10:30 a.m., according to deputies, who called the comment "generic." SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- The new Mexican president is hoping a new deal with three Central American leaders will stop or slow the flow of migrants seeking asylum in the United States. Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador signed the new deal within hours of taking office. The deal with Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, promises to create a fund that would fight poverty, create jobs and make sure migrants feel safe in their home countries. It will also create a re-integration program for those traveling with the caravan who wish to go back.University of San Diego professor, Ev Meade, says this deal looks good on paper but no one will know for sure until more specifics are released. Professor Meade has been traveling to Tijuana to meet and speak with the migrants. He says most leave because of instability. "What I hear from a lot of people is indirect effects of violence, so it's someone that might say I can't afford to feed my family but when you start asking them questions about what they do, the business that they worked for, why they were laid off, the violence is always there. It might be one degree, two degrees, three degrees of separation but the violence is always there," says Meade. It is still unclear how much funding will go towards those Central American countries but Meade says it will be years before we see the effects of the deal. (KGTV) - The library at Willow Elementary School is officially be renamed the "Ramon Parra Library" on Friday, in honor a man who dedicated his life to the children of San Ysidro."Anything that needed to be done, he did it," remembers Emilio Noriega, Jr., who played baseball with Parra's son. "He didn't look for any help, he did it himself."Parra is credited with founding the San Ysidro Little League. He also served on the local school board for 18 years. Friends say he served on countless other committees and community boards, all working to make San Ysidro a better place."He was the kind of person that did everything for everybody and didn't ask for nothing," says Jaime Mercado. "He was one of the most honest people you ever ran across."Parra passed 30 years ago. The effort to honor him began in 2017. Mercado and a few other people from the Friends of San Ysidro group started a petition to rename the whole school after Parra. When that failed, they set their sights on the library.A GoFundMe campaign raised ,100 to pay for new lettering. The San Ysidro School Board chipped in another ,000.
