PUEBLO, Colo. — A white supremacist accused of plotting to bomb the Temple Emanuel synagogue in Pueblo last year pleaded guilty to federal hate crime and explosives charges Thursday morning, according to court documents.Richard Holzer pleaded guilty to charges on Thursday that he attempted to obstruct others from exercising religious beliefs through force and that he attempted to destroy a building used in "interstate commerce."Holzer was arrested Nov. 1, 2019, after he met up with three undercover FBI agents in an attempt to bomb Temple Emanuel in Pueblo, Colorado as part of what he called a "racial holy war" and to wipe the synagogue "off the map" in what the FBI said amounted to "domestic terrorism."An undercover agent began talking to Holzer on Facebook in September 2019 after investigators say he promoted white supremacy and violence on several accounts. Holzer pleaded not guilty in November 2019 to a three-count indictment submitted by a grand jury.Holzer's sentencing is set for Jan. 20. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the hate crime charge and 20 years for the explosives charge, a fine of up to 0,000, and a term of supervised release. This story was originally published by Brenda Argueta on KOAA in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 1284
President Donald Trump's attorney-turned-enemy Michael Cohen is launching a podcast Monday, titled “Mea Culpa." He tells The Associated Press his first guest will be comedian and talk-show host Rosie O'Donnell. Once at odds, Cohen says he and O'Donnell have become friends and bonded as a result of the grudge they bear toward Trump. “First episode. First interview. First feud. First family,” Cohen told The Associated Press by phone late Thursday.Trump and O’Donnell have engaged in a lengthy public feud. Challenged during a presidential primary debate in 2015 about how he described some women as “fat pigs,” “dogs” and “slobs,” Trump responded by saying: “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”Cohen says his relationship with O'Donnell began while he was imprisoned for tax crimes, lying to congress and campaign finance violations. He says O'Donnell sent him a six-page letter. Cohen wrote an apology in response, which prompted O'Donnell to visit him in prison. 961
Recorded by another driver Wednesday afternoon, a video shows two vehicles - a car and a minivan - heading down Kanner Highway in Stuart, Florida. We don't see what leads up to it, but the car appears to be driving slowly in front of the minivan - even jumping in front of the van when the driver tries to change lanes. The two cars get to the intersection of US 1 and Kanner.Almost immediately, three men get out and brawl in the middle of the busy road."Bystanders were involved trying to break them up, and the potential of those bystanders also getting hurt during this is increased," says Jeff Kittredge with the Stuart Police Department.Kittredge says the men in the car, Eric Gerstmann and Sean Gerstmann of Port Saint Lucie, drove away at the end the fight but were arrested just down the road."Not only are you putting yourself in danger, but you're also putting other motorists in danger with aggressive driving," he says. For many folks, it shows we still have a long way to go."A lot of people are fueled off of hate and anger, and not love and passion," says resident Victor Diodato."It just shows how little respect we have for each other," says resident Joseph Neuroth. " I hope one day we can stop and think instead of act on impulse. "You never know whose day you're ruining."Eric and Sean Gerstmann are charged with disorderly conduct. Eric Gerstmann was also charged with resisting arrest without violence. Investigators say they are still looking for the other driver for questioning as the investigation continues. If you have any info, contact Stuart Police. 1600
