on Wednesday which would create special "Make America Great Again" and "Keep America Great" Oklahoma license plates.Dahm filed Senate Bill 1384, with Sen. Marty Quinn, a fellow Republican, as the co-author of the bill.According to a press release, each purchase of the specialty license plate would support two veteran groups in Oklahoma that President Donald Trump has donated to in the past.In addition to all other registration fees that are required by the Oklahoma Vehicle License and Registration, a special license plate is per year. The press release states that each purchase of a specialty license plate would donate to the Warriors for Freedom Foundation and to the Folds of Honor Foundation.According to the press release, there are 98 special license plates available in Oklahoma.“I believe these license plates could be very popular with Oklahomans,” Quinn said. “Our president has been very supportive of our veterans, and these plates are a great way to give back to some very deserving Oklahoma veteran groups.”This article was provided by 1070

on Friday. Members of Congress and President Donald Trump have also been briefed by U.S. officials, the Washington Post added. Sanders addressed the Washington Post's report while campaigning in California on Friday. Sanders warned Putin to "stay out of American elections."“Unlike Donald Trump, I do not consider Vladimir Putin a good friend," Sanders said. "He is an autocratic thug who is attempting to destroy democracy and crush dissent in Russia. Let’s be clear, the Russians want to undermine American democracy by dividing us up and, unlike the current president, I stand firmly against their efforts, and any other foreign power that wants to interfere in our election."It is unclear to how exactly the Kremlin is trying to boost Sanders' campaign. US officials have been investigating Russian involvement in domestic presidential elections since the 2016 election. Special Counsel Robert Mueller brought charges against 13 Russian officials for conspiring to defraud the United States. Mueller alleged that Russian oligarchs conspired to help Trump get elected. 1074

for his role in the death of Eric Garner.ORIGINAL STORY: A final decision on the future of the officer accused of fatally choking Eric Garner is expected to be announced by New York Police Commissioner James O'Neill at 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to multiple law enforcement officials.Officer Daniel Pantaleo was found guilty in a disciplinary trial earlier this month of using a chokehold on Garner, the New York man whose final words, "I can't breathe," became a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement. The departmental administrative judge officially recommended Pantaleo be fired. O'Neill had been expected to follow the recommendation, a senior law enforcement official said then. Pantaleo has been suspended pending the commissioner's decision, the NYPD spokesman said. The decision comes more than five years after police tried to arrest the 43-year-old father of six, who was allegedly selling loose cigarettes illegally on Staten Island. In video of the arrest, Pantaleo can be seen wrapping one arm around Garner's shoulder and the other around his neck before jerking him back and pulling him to the ground. As Pantaleo forces Garner's head into the sidewalk, Garner could be heard saying "I can't breathe. I can't breathe." He died shortly afterward.Garner's death, three weeks before the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, started the resurgence of police accountability and brought the Black Lives Matter movement to the forefront, Rev. Al Sharpton said last month. The "I can't breathe" phrase reflected the suffocating frustration with what activists said was a lack of police accountability after police killings of unarmed African Americans. The phrase was widely heard and seen at protests, and NBA stars like LeBron James bore the message on T-shirts in support of the cause.Judge recommended he be firedThe departmental disciplinary trial focused on whether Pantaleo used a department-banned chokehold in the arrest. The city medical examiner's office ruled Garner's death a homicide in the days after his death, and the medical examiner testified that Pantaleo's alleged chokehold caused an asthma attack and was "part of the lethal cascade of events."Pantaleo denied that he used the maneuver, but Deputy Commissioner of Trials Rosemarie Maldonado ruled that a chokehold triggered a series of events that culminated with Garner's death, according to the report, which CNN obtained from a source familiar with the matter."Here, (Pantaleo's) use of a chokehold fell so far short of objective reasonableness that this tribunal found it to be reckless -- a gross deviation from the standard of conduct established for a New York City police officer," Maldonado wrote. "Moreover, (Pantaleo's) glaring dereliction of responsibility precipitated a tragic outcome."Despite the disciplinary trial, Pantaleo has avoided criminal charges in the death. A grand jury in New York declined to indict the officer in 2014, and the city of New York settled with Garner's estate for .9 million in 2015. The Justice Department declined to bring federal civil rights charges last month. 3109

You might be driving less during the coronavirus pandemic. If so, a different type of insurance could save you money.Pay per mile auto insurance is for those who drive less than 12,000 miles per year.“They are seeing in the news that people are giving rebates, so it’s at the top of their mind, where maybe they didn't think of that before and now they are thinking, ‘oh yeah, that’s right, I am driving less, I should be paying less,” said Michelle Megna with CarInsurance.com.One company claims it can save you about 0 a year. You pay a flat rate, then 6 cents a mile. There's a cap on the number of miles you can be charged for.Ford recently partnered with Metromile to offer the insurance in its new connected cars.Other companies like Nationwide, Allstate and a new company called Mile Auto also have similar plans.“Typically, there are few complaints about pay per mile, because its relatively straightforward and its very simple and obviously consumers like that,” said Megna.Pay per mile is different than usage-based insurance. That also takes into account when you drive, hard braking and acceleration.Pay per mile is strictly miles and is typically tracked through an app or device.Even if you're driving over 10,000 miles per year, it could still pay to shop around. 1288
