James Comey, the former FBI director, said he laughed when President Donald Trump suggested he might have to jail journalists to send a message about unauthorized leaks, a memo Comey wrote which was obtained by CNN and other news outlets on Thursday revealed.In a memo dated February 14, 2017, Comey said that Trump complained during an Oval Office meeting about classified information being leaked to the media. KGTV - Two young girls were found safe after an AMBER Alert was issued Saturday evening, and the suspect is in custody, California Highway Patrol confirmed.An AMBER Alert was issued around 7:15 p.m. Saturday evening for a 2014 black and purple Dodge Challenger, California license plate 7WKZ957.The suspect, Anthony Lee Gaines, 29, called police himself after the AMBER Alert was issued, Los Angeles Police said.The girls, ages five and seven, were at their grandmother's house with the suspect, police said.This is a developing story. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens has been indicted by a grand jury in St. Louis on a felony invasion of privacy charge. The St. Louis City Attorney's Office confirmed Greitens was taken into custody by police in St. Louis. NBC station KSDK?reports in St. Louis reports that a judge granted his release. Court documents accuse Greitens of knowingly photographing an unidentified person in a state of partial or full nudity without consent and when the victim would have had a reasonable expectation of privacy. The incident allegedly occurred on March 21, 2015.If convicted, Greitens could face up to four years in prison. Last month, Greitens admitted to having an affair with a woman in March 2015.   778

LA JOLLA (CNS) - UC San Diego officials Wednesday were looking into reports that China is cutting off state funding for students from that country who want to study at the school.The concern stems from a Saturday tweet by Victor Shih, an associate professor of political economy at UCSD's School of Global Policy & Strategy, showing an image of a document he said was from the China Scholarship Council giving instructions to students planning to attend UCSD.RELATED: UCSD commencement speaker angers Chinese studentsAn English translation of the document said China's study abroad organizations would no longer process applications from students who have not been granted visas by the U.S. embassy, or scheduled a visa appointment, as of Sunday, according to Shih.Shih captioned the tweet: "China Scholarship Council puts a freeze on all CSC funded scholars to @GPS_UCSD , presumably due to Dalai Lama visit."The action comes three months after the Dalai Lama, who is fiercely opposed by China's communist government, gave a pair of keynote speeches at UCSD's commencement ceremonies.
