"Saw the mess on the floor and thought what's going on?" said owner Chira Svangvitaya.A look at the surveillance video gave Svangvitaya the answer. Just before 5:30 Monday morning, a man in a hoodie is seen creeping into through the back door. He heads right to the cash register but finds it empty.He grabs some paperwork, empties the change dish and moments later, he leaves. It isn't for long. "He walked in and out three times, like he's not afraid of anything," said Svangvitaya.Two more trips nets him armfuls of stuff, including a computer, iPad, iPod, checkbooks and a case of soda. Near the end, he takes off his hood - and Svangvitaya's heart sank."I feel so sad and annoying. I don't know what I did to him," said Svangvitaya.The intruder is a stranger to her, but appears to be the same man who broke into the restaurant early Halloween morning. On that occasion, he used a crowbar to mangle the lock and damaged the register while grabbing 0 in cash. He also nabbed five tablets and a computer, crippling her online delivery business.Svangvitaya spent 0 to add a deadbolt after the Halloween break-in. This time, the intruder destroyed the repaired lock and the new deadbolt and went right on in. On the menu now are more costly repairs and a serving of nerves.    "I'm scared he will come back," said Svangvitaya. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A group of ladies in the North County are part of a nonprofit group that has focused on philanthropic projects for 20 years. Since April, however, six of the women in the group have been on a new mission. "We all go in separate cars and are in a horseshoe line, and someone will ring the doorbell. When the person answers then we're in good shape to sing, ask them how they're doing and tell them we love them and care about them."The group, who call themselves Masquerade Brigade, sing to those who are elderly and vulnerable to COVID-19 on their birthdays. "Just the human connection means a lot to them and it makes them feel like they're not forgotten," said Sophia Bouvier, a member of the singing group.The individuals they sing to are people who they volunteered with before we entered a COVID world."They've texted us after, 'I've been visited by the Masquerade Brigade. You can't believe how uplifting it is to see their faces and listen to their smiles as they sing,'" described Bouvier.Their gift of singing, small gifts, and presence isn't something you can put a price tag on they said, "Kindness is free and it takes so little to make a big difference."The group is out singing every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., and have visited over 25 people since April. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A fire broke out inside a shopping center in San Diego’s Talmadge neighborhood early Sunday morning. Crews say the blaze broke out inside an alteration shop around 1 a.m. Sunday at the corner of El Cajon Boulevard and Menlo Avenue. Owner Anne Chan says she was in shock after receiving a phone call hours after he store went up in flames. "My neighbor called me. I didn’t know what happened," says Chan.RELATED: Man dies after fiery South Bay crashFirefighters arrived on scene and quickly worked to extinguish the flames before they spread to nearby businesses. Chan says she open AA Fashion four years ago. This is her second alteration business. She tells 10News she owned a store in another location for 20 years, then retired. After taking a few years off she opened this store. "I came back to work because I love to sew." According to San Diego Fire-Rescue, no one was inside the business at the time of the fire. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two San Diego-based U.S. Navy SEALs have been charged in connection with the 2017 execution of a detainee in Iraq.SEAL officials told the Navy Times that Lt. Jacob "Jake" Portier faces an Article 32 hearing on suspicion of covering up a string of war crimes allegedly committed by Special Operations Chief Edward "Eddie" Gallagher.The Naval Criminal Investigative Service probe involves the death of a wounded Islamic State fighter near Mosul, Iraq in May 2017, the Navy Times reported.Prosecutors allege Gallagher stabbed and killed the wounded man, posed for a photograph next to the body and opted to complete his re-enlistment ceremony next to the corpse, bringing "discredit upon the armed forces."Gallagher is also accused of shooting two non-combatants in separate incidents near Mosul, the Navy Times reported.An MCAS Miramar spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.Gallagher was arrested on Sept. 11 and is being detained at the Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, under Rules for Court-Martial 305, the Navy Times reported.Portier, who is accused of dereliction of duty, was not present at the time of the alleged killing, the Navy Times reported. He was Gallagher's platoon leader during the deployment and told investigators he learned about the alleged war crimes only after he was told about them by a special operator first class."Naval Special Warfare does not comment on specifics of an ongoing investigation in order to preserve its integrity, however all credible allegations of criminal activity are taken extremely seriously and thoroughly investigated," Naval Special Warfare spokeswoman Cmdr. Tamara Lawrence told the Navy Times.Between April and September in and around San Diego, Gallagher allegedly tried to "discourage members of his platoon from reporting his actions while in Iraq during his deployment," according to the publication. 1941
