According to police, two sisters were walking on the 1400 block of Broadway around 1:20 a.m. when they discovered a man who wasn’t breathing.Officers tried to save the man, later identified as 56-year-old Ivan Velez, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. (KGTV) - Two Chula Vista parks closed Thursday due to the threat of falling trees and saturated ground amid a cold winter storm.The City of Chula Vista tweeted the closures about 3 p.m. Thursday.Hilltop Park, 780 Hilltop Drive, and Eucalyptus Park, 436 C Street, are located between I-5 and I-805 in the western half of the city. Parents tell 10News they received an email just after 8:30 a.m. letting them know of the changes. The students were told once they got to school.
