A controversial sanctuary city bill will become law in Tennessee without Governor Bill Haslam's signature. State lawmakers overwhelmingly passed HB2315, which prohibits cities and counties from adopting policies that would protect undocumented immigrants from federal agents. Haslam said Monday that the bill has created a lot of unnecessary fear in the state and doesn’t change the way the state deals with federal immigration agencies. When was asked why he wouldn’t veto the bill, Haslam said it’s because it would just prolong the discussion, adding there aren't currently have any sanctuary cities in Tennessee. The so-called sanctuary city bill requires law enforcement officials to comply with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement rules, including detainer requests.   837

A local pastor is speaking out after he says a woman leaving a pizza place in Detroit coughed on him as they crossed paths. The woman was wearing a mask, he wasn’t, and the whole incident was captured on surveillance video.Michael Hale and his wife Victoria were out celebrating Juneteenth, but when the couple went to get a pizza the celebration turned to anger. He says a woman started interrogating him about not wearing a mask.“She literally started to say things to me like, where is your mask or did you lose your mask. And so I told her my mask is in the car, I’m not going to be in here,” he said. “She literally walked back out, leaned over and coughed directly into my face."Surveillance video of the incident captured every moment, from when Michael crosses paths with that woman and she appears to cough in his face. Michael immediately reacted.“I just basically told her that you can’t do this stuff, 'why did you do this to me. I didn’t do anything to you like that,'” Michael recalled.His wife, Victoria, was sitting in the car and couldn’t believe what she saw. She says they filed a police report after the incident but was told police can’t do anything about it.“The sergeant told me that no criminal charges will be filed against her and in the State of Michigan it is currently not a crime to cough on someone," Victoria said. "But, according to the prosecutor they can’t go after things like this because it’s not a crime and they don’t have the resources to pursue these types of things."Michael says he should of had his mask on, but what happened to him shouldn’t have happened at all.“You don’t have the opportunity to police me and to ridicule me for not wearing my mask because no one made you in charge,” he said.DPD would only confirm to us they are investigating. A Fond du Lac man who holds the world record for "Most Big Macs Consumed" ate his 30,000th Big Mac on Friday.Don Gorske said he ate his first Big Mac on May 17, 1972, and has enjoyed, on average, two of the sandwiches nearly every day since.“I take that first bite, it was the best thing I had ever tasted in my life,” reads a pamphlet from Gorske that chronicles his hamburger habit.An entry titled “Summer of 1972” reads, “When I’m not at work, or going to McDonalds [sic], I’m at County Stadium, eating a Big Mac while watching the Brewers, or I’m ‘cruising Main Street’ like everybody else."Gorske’s good health can be verified by asking his wife, a nurse practitioner, he writes.“My height is 6’2”, [and] if I try hard, I can get up to 195 pounds,” he writes.There have been eight days that have not included a Big Mac for Gorske since he took that first bite of one in 1972, he wrote. The most recent was November 23, 2011, when McDonald’s was closed for Thanksgiving Day. A Buffalo woman faces a felony charge following an April brawl at a Chuck E. Cheese in the nearby town of Amherst.Amherst Police said Tamika Clemons, 20, was arrested Wednesday. Clemons was arraigned Thursday on a charge of 2nd-degree assault.Bail was set at ,000 cash.The video attached to this story was sent to Scripps station WKBW in Buffalo Jay Keenan of Lockport, New York. A canceled chase in Akron, Ohio ended in a two-car crash with both drivers being arrested on warrants, according to police.Police said the crash happened around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday at an intersection.Police said they got behind a red Hyundai that was stolen and tried to pull the driver over when he took off. The driver reached speeds of around 80 mph when a supervisor canceled the chase. Police said the driver continued to accelerate and 30 seconds later they found the car crashed. The Hyundai hit a minivan and then a pole, a fire hydrant, another pole, before eventually coming to rest next door to an Akron fire station. The Hyundai was shredded in the crash leaving its trunk lid in a parking lot, part of its door wrapped around a traffic light pole and a wheel a hundred feet away.The driver of the stolen Hyundai had warrants and will be taken to jail after he is released from the hospital with what police say are minor injuries.The driver of the minivan was also a wanted felon and he will also be arrested after he is released from the hospital with what police say were minor injuries.  1131
