President Donald Trump announced Friday night that he will be awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former Notre Dame football head coach Lou Holtz.Holtz is an ardent supporter of Trump, speaking on his behalf at the Republican National Convention last week.Holtz, who was once a notable figure at one of the nation’s most recognizable Catholic institutions, used part of his speech to vilify Democratic nominee Joe Biden for being a Catholic who supports abortion choice.“One of the important reasons he has my trust is because nobody is but a stronger advocate for the unborn than President Trump,” Holtz said. As a college head coach, he led William and Mary, North Carolina State, Minnesota, Arkansas, Notre Dame and South Carolina. President Donald Trump is expected to attend the Army-Navy football game Saturday. He will be one of a small group of people attending the typically packed game.Because of coronavirus pandemic safety restrictions, the only fans in the stands at the annual game was limited to the Brigade of Midshipmen and Army cadets, according to the Baltimore Sun.The Army-Navy game is typically played in a larger stadium, however Saturday the teams will face-off at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. This is the only the sixth time the Army-Navy game will be played on a college campus, the last time was also at the Military Academy in 1943 due to World War II, according to the Baltimore Sun.Trump attended the Army-Navy game twice as president and as president-elect in 2016. PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Human body parts that authorities say may have been intended for medical research were found over the weekend in northern Arizona.According to a statement released Sunday by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified about the remains near Prescott on Saturday and an examination confirmed they were human.A second site with additional body parts was discovered Sunday.The sheriff’s office says it is treating the investigation as a homicide, but the Yavapai County medical examiner says it appears the remains from both sites are from a medical institution and were intended for use in the educational and research field.The sheriff’s office described abandoning remains as a serious crime and said it intends to find “those culpable for such disrespect shown in the cavalier way the remains were discarded.”Sheriff Scott Mascher and Sheriff-Elect David Rhodes issued statements, saying they’ll work together to assure that whatever resources necessary are available to determine those responsible are found and prosecuted.“It is not much that could surprise me anymore, but this news makes me sick, especially for the families of those whose remains were found.
