SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego hairstylist is suing Governor Gavin Newsom over closures of indoor salons. It comes even after a revised order that allows them to operate outside.Amy Mullins-Boychack doesn’t take just any client.“They might have to pace for 15 minutes before they can regulate their anxiety to get a hair cut,” she said.She’s been cutting hair for children with special needs at her salon “THAIRapy” for eight years. Under restrictions from the state, salons are only allowed to operate outdoors.She says that’s not an option with her clients.“I have clients that don’t have impulse control,” said Mullins-Boychack. “They don’t have the ability to just sit anywhere and get a hair cut.”So she joined a lawsuit filed against the governor in March. The plaintiff, JD Bols, is a landlord to several churches and beauty salons in San Diego.The lawsuit also names Mayor Kevin Faulconer, Sheriff Bill Gore, and the County Board of Supervisors as defendants. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A pilot suffered minor injuries Wednesday after a small plane landed hard at Fallbrook Airpark and skidded off a runway.The incident involving a small aircraft was reported just before 9:55 a.m. at the Fallbrook Airpark on 2155 Air Park Rd., authorities said.According to a North County Fire Protection District official, the plane was in the air when it experienced mechanical problems. The pilot landed at the airport, but the plane skidded 50-70 feet off the end of the runway and came to rest in a dirt area.The plane did not catch fire, the department said.The department said the pilot, who was the only person on board, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.ABC 10New learned the FAA will investigate the incident. 788

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A police pursuit involving a man who failed to yield that started in the Los Angeles area took authorities all the way to San Diego Thursday.The suspect, later identified as Karl Flores, 34, was driving a red Honda Civic when he failed to yield on Washington Boulevard at about 11 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol. The man had first been reported as a stolen vehicle suspect, but police eventually said that was not the case.Flores then took police on a pursuit through the Los Angeles area, at one point hitting a pedestrian riding a scooter. CHP said it appeared the vehicle had run out of gas. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A new alliance of San Diegans with a mission to end gun violence launched their new collation Tuesday night.More than 200 people were there for the formation of San Diegans for Gun Violence Prevention, made up of four local chapter of national groups:  Brady Campaign, Moms Demand Action, Survivors Empowered and Sandy Hook Promise.”“We really think expanded background checks in every state would go a long way,” said Wendy Wheatcroft, the driving force behind the creation of the coalition. “California definitely has the strongest gun laws and should be an example to the rest of the country, and we’re hoping other states follow suit.”“I want to emphasize all the organization here’s support the second amendment, and we’re not trying to take anyone’s guns away,” Wheatcroft said.Michael Schwartz is with the San Diego County Gun Owners; he says the country before looking at gun laws.
