President Trump's first public reaction to the cancellation of "Roseanne" is a shot at Disney CEO Bob Iger."Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that 'ABC does not tolerate comments like those' made by Roseanne Barr," Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. "Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn't get the call?"Jarrett was one of the targets of Barr's Twitter tirade early Tuesday morning.Barr compared Jarrett to "Planet of the Apes" and the Muslim Brotherhood, then claimed she was just joking. The tweet was widely condemned as racist.Jarrett, one of the most prominent African American women in politics, was one of President Obama's top aides. That's partly why Barr attacked her. Barr frequently uses her Twitter account to deride Democrats.Iger and Jarrett did not immediately respond to requests for comment about Trump's tweet.Trump is implying that he is the victim of a liberal media double standard. There are additional political overtones to the dispute since Iger seriously considered a 2020 run against Trump. He deliberated about it with friends and financiers last year, but ultimately decided against a run.It is true that Iger called Jarrett and told her about the decision to cancel "Roseanne" shortly before it was announced on Tuesday."He wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show," Jarrett said in an interview on MSNBC.Trump's tweet on Wednesday seemed to be influenced by an Entertainment Weekly recap of the interview. EW said that "Iger apologized and said he would not tolerate those kinds of comments made by Barr, Jarrett said."Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Barr reacted to ABC's decision by tweeting apologies and retweeting dozens of her fans. Some of the retweets promoted conspiracy theories and anti-ABC grievances.The-CNN-Wire 1918

President Donald Trump told special counsel Robert Mueller in writing that Roger Stone did not tell him about WikiLeaks, nor was he told about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between his son, campaign officials and a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton, according to two sources familiar with the matter. One source described the President's answers without providing any direct quotes and said the President made clear he was answering to the best of his recollection. This is the first insight into how the President responded to the Mueller team's written questions -- a key unknown as Mueller aims to wrap up his investigation and prepare his final report. These two points -- WikiLeaks and the Trump Tower meeting -- are critical to Mueller's central mission: investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russians during the 2016 campaign. The President's lawyers previously told CNN the answers would match his public statements. Still, these written answers could be subject to criminal charges if false.A spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment. CNN did not get a full readout of all of the President's answers to Mueller's questions.According to many lawyers who have experience in cases such as this, adding the caveat that he has no recollection, as the President apparently did with these written answers to Mueller, is standard procedure as a way to try to shield a client should their recollections be challenged."It's well-documented how frequently he says or tweets false things, and there's no criminal exposure for that," said CNN legal analyst Carrie Cordero. "The difference is, if he lies in his statement to federal investigators, he is potentially exposing himself to criminal liability, assuming he attested to the accuracy of the information."On WikiLeaks, Mueller's team has been investigating whether Stone, a Republican political operative and longtime Trump ally, knew in advance about WikiLeaks' dumps of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta at key times during the 2016 campaign.Investigators have questioned multiple Stone associates in the past few months. Stone has denied having any advance knowledge of WikiLeaks releases."I never discussed any of this with Donald Trump. It's one of the questions that Mr. Mueller wants the President to answer -- one of the written questions. I'm highly confident that his answer will be that he knew nothing about it. We just never discussed it," Stone recently told CNN.Stone's denial matches with what Trump told Mueller: that the two never spoke about WikiLeaks.Trump vehemently denies colluding with Russia. He told The Associated Press in an interview last year, "When WikiLeaks came out ... never heard of WikiLeaks, never heard of it. When WikiLeaks came out, all I was just saying is, 'Well, look at all this information here, this is pretty good stuff.'"On the 2016 Trump Tower meeting, the President has publicly said he didn't know about the meeting."I did NOT know of the meeting with my son, Don Jr," Trump tweeted in July. The President's son told lawmakers he did not tell his father about the meeting in advance. He said he took the meeting to listen to what the Russians had to offer on Clinton. Before the answers were submitted, Mueller had asked Trump's lawyers for call logs and visitor logs related to Stone from Trump Tower, CNN reported earlier this month. The request this late in the investigation surprised Trump's legal team.Stone told CNN he has not been contacted by Mueller's team. Trump Jr. testified under oath to several congressional committees and provided documents to Mueller's investigators. His lawyer has declined to comment on whether Trump Jr. was interviewed by the special counsel. 3795

RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - Over the past week, two different red flag warnings have plagued San Diego's East County communities. The Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center in Ramona was suffered damage from a wind storm Tuesday night. The nonprofit therapy center helps veterans and other patients find healing through riding. Owner Judy Beckett said they did everything they could to prepare for the Santa Ana winds, tying down anything loose and putting fly masks on the horses to protect them. 520

Record unemployment rocked the real estate market. Now, interest rates are at record lows, giving many people a new way to save money by refinancing their current mortgage.Matthew Garcia, a senior loan officer with Supreme Lending, says now is a good time to refinance your home. "Absolutely. I mean, you’re looking at interest rates being at the most historic rates they’ve ever been. Rates have been in the 3% ranges before but now you’re seeing 30-year loans getting into the upper twos and middle twos, which is completely insane," said Garcia.Garcia says the industry is going through a refinancing boom that it hasn't seen since a few years after the Great Recession. Refinancing your mortgage, or essentially restructuring your current home loan under a new, lower interest rate, can be done for a couple different reasons."There’s two main types of refinancing you can do. There’s what’s called rate term refinance which means I’m simply refinancing the balance from any closing costs I might have and dropping the interest rates. That’s what called Rate Term, taking no additional cash out. Then there’s also cash out. Cash out refinances tend to be a bit more expensive. When I say more expensive, I mean the rates are slightly higher, more expensive in cost structure," said Garcia. For cash out refinancing, home owners who have likely owned their property for at least four or five years, are refinancing to take the extra cash from the increased equity in the home, and invest it in renovations or elsewhere."Where people can get into more danger is, they're taking out money because they want to go out and invest in other investment properties, go use that money to go out and buy other homes, speculate. That’s where it gets a bit dangerous. A lot of folks start watching their HGTV and think they're the expert and they're going to tap into this equity and go and do these things. There’s a lot more to it," said Garcia.Garcia says the last thing people want is to end up with two failed mortgages. He says the best reasons to refinance is debt consolidation or if it will save money in the long run.Josh Stech, CEO and co-founder of Sundae, a company that helps people with homes in bad condition get their properties sold, also says it's a good time to refinance because of how great the real estate market was doing before the COVID-19 pandemic."Rates are really low but also equity in homes was really high. We hit historic highs heading into the pandemic in terms of the amount of equity that homeowners have in their homes. Basically, the value versus the mortgage that they owe," said Stech. As for how long interest rates will last, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has said they could be around for years. Sheck says, there's a chance interest rates could go even lower but there's already so much demand to refinance and banks can only process so many."I think as the fed is targeting a longer term near-zero interest rate environment, I think actually if you maybe wait a little bit you might play the game and win and get a lower interest rate because of the supply and demand I mentioned. I think it's a great time. It's hard to argue with record lows you haven't seen since 1971," said Stech.Experts recommend people who are considering refinancing to talk to a loan officer or financial advisor to make the best decision for their situation. But, if it's something they're interested in doing, to look into it while the rates are as low as they are. 3495
