SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Marine killed in a motorcycle crash on I-15 Friday has been identified as 21-year-old Logan Parkhurst.The crash happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 near Miramar Way just after 6:30 a.m.According to the California Highway Patrol, Parkhurst hit the back of a Toyota while attempting to exit onto Miramar Way, causing him to be ejected. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new report shows how San Diego ranks among U.S. and California cities for seniors. According to caring.com, San Diego ranks 159th out of 302 cities nationally for best and worst cities for seniors. San Diego ranked high on the list when it comes to quality of life, ranking 94th out of the 302 cities. Some areas where San Diego ranked lower include healthcare,180th out of 302 and affordability, placing 194th out of 302. In California, San Diego ranked fairly low, coming in at 45th among 75 cities. The best cities in The Golden State for seniors are San Francisco, Woodland Hills, Santa Monica and Burlingame. Nationally, San Francisco also took the top spot, followed by Fredericksburg, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Boston Massachusetts. Caring.com rated the cities using data on healthcare, housing options, community engagement, transportation, quality of life and workforce development. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, seniors will outnumber kids by 2035. A separate study found that retirees in America's Finest City are downsizing to make it in San Diego. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A new social media trend is hoping to help local food places hit hard by this COVID-19 pandemic.Currently, restaurants in the county are only allowed to serve food through take-out, delivery, or drive-thru service. Some restaurants have had to close altogether, not able to afford to keep their doors open. For those businesses trying to stay open, the community is lending its support through #takeoutchallenge.Sports Director Ben Higgins called it the easiest challenge in history. “All you have to do is go order take out from one of your local restaurants,” he said in a video posted to Twitter. Ben ordered food from Buona Forchetta in Encinitas.Others also chimed in on social media.Jason tweeted that he ordered from Mama Kat’s in San Marcos for the first time. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A local organization is raising money for a good Samaritan that died in February in Pine Valley. Sunday, the It's All About the Kids Foundation hosted the "Be Like Bob" art show to raise money for a scholarship in Bob Bruno's honor. Bruno died in February when he stopped to help a driver on the I-8 in Pine Valley. While helping, there was another accident and to avoid being hit, Bruno jumped over the side of the guardrail, falling into the canyon below. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man who apparently set himself on fire and died of burn injuries is unidentified, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office said Friday in a plea for the public’s help. An artist created a rendering of the man who told first responders his name was Randy. Medical Examiner’s Investigator Tessa Lee said Randy apparently set himself ablaze under an overpass bridge in Carmel Valley July 4. He died six days later. Randy’s burns were too severe for investigators to obtain fingerprints or identify tattoos or a birthmark. The man was Hispanic or Caucasian, in his 20s to early 40s, with short dark hair, and green or hazel eyes. He stood between 5’9” and 5’11”, and weighed about 270 pounds.
