Former President George H.W. Bush was taken to a hospital in Maine on Sunday after experiencing low blood pressure and fatigue.Bush's spokesman, Jim McGrath, said in a tweet Sunday afternoon that the President, who is 93 years old, will likely remain at a Southern Maine Health Care facility "for a few days for observation.""The former president is awake and alert, and not in any discomfort," McGrath continued.Bush was previously admitted to a Houston hospital last month after contracting an infection that spread to his blood the day after a funeral was held for his wife, Barbara Bush. For students at Jackson Memorial Middle School in Ohio, Tuesday wasn't a normal day. When a seventh-grade student pulled out a gun and shot himself, students began to panic.  Airyonna Haggerty, who is a sixth grader at the school, described the moment teachers told her to get inside the classroom.The 12-year-old heard teachers screaming to get inside the classroom and the next thing she knew, she was hiding and crouching down with her fellow peers near the teacher's desk."I dropped everything. My phone, my chrome book, my book bag and me and my friends ran into the classroom and then we all hid. We were probably there for about 20 minutes," said Haggerty.The principal of the school knocked on the classroom door and told the students and teacher that everyone had to go to another class."We started gathering our stuff and went into the hallway. Then we went to go open the door and it was locked," said Haggerty. (WFTX)  -- A Florida woman got creative with spare spray paint and plywood and made a sign to get the power company's attention.“I thought that all of my neighbors would get a huge kick out of it,” said Kynse Agles.She posed for a photo next to her pink sign that reads, “Hot single female seeks sexy lineman to electrify her life.”Just days before she posted the sign outside her Fort Myers home, Agles went under the knife for a kidney transplant. “My hurricane story started with a double organ transplant at Tampa General Hospital,” she said.Agles had to stay in air conditioning in order to avoid complications from her procedure. “I found a place to stay that had electricity and have been jumping from bed to couch,” she said.Then a light bulb went off in her head.“I saw a post on Facebook and I thought it was really funny and I can do it better,” she said. “I just thought maybe if a lineman got to my neighborhood they’ll laugh and hook me up first,” she added.Her sign did catch the attention of linemen. After they restored her power, they took a picture behind the sign and left a note.“Big shout-out for everyone who is working to get the power restored, because it’s so hot out there,” she said.She’s just happy not have to ride any more couches.“I haven’t slept in my bed in 20 nights, so I’m really excited to sleep tonight,” she said.Agles might even loan it to some of her other neighbors who are still without power. “My neighbor across the street doesn't have power yet, I told him he can borrow my sign later.” 1578

Florida gunman Nikolas Cruz is willing to plead guilty to avoid the death penalty and spare the community from reliving the massacre in a trial, his public defender said.Cruz, 19, faces charges of premeditated murder in Wednesday's shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, which left 17 people dead.Broward County Public Defender Howard Finkelstein, who is representing the confessed gunman, said there's no question he killed the 14 students and three staff members."The only question is, does he live or does he die?" Finkelstein asked.Prosecutors would need to agree not to ask for capital punishment and allow life without parole instead.On Saturday, State Attorney Michael J. Satz said this "certainly is the type of case the death penalty was designed for," but that now is the time "to let the families grieve and bury their children and loved ones.""Our office will announce our formal position at the appropriate time," Satz said.Cruz's next court date is set for Monday morning.
